1st Mistake Pitch of the Evening

Post#341 » by Ranma » Tue Oct 10, 2017 3:40 am

Wow. Darvish left that pitch up and Martinez thankfully missed it. Yu ends up striking out the side in the 4th inning.

We got to score more runs to erode the D-backs' spirit with the way Darvish is pitching tonight.

Can’t believe Turner looked at that.

Greinke nutting up is giving them momentum.

Told them to post away.

I’m on my phone, so I’m posting as I see it and refreshing to see your posts at the end of innings.

Darvish's Journey

Post#351 » by Ranma » Tue Oct 10, 2017 4:00 am

I'm not sure about the TBS broadcast team's telling of events of how Darvish was almost a Dodger twice before we ended trading for him.

I mean I believe that we recruited him out of Japanese high school, but under McCourt, we didn't have the funds to provide a financially competitive offer when he was posted out of NPB.

The telecast mentioned the Dodgers and Yankees on a short list, but that probably refers to his list of preferred destination teams. The description of events comes off as misleading.

still just a run. that Cody's solo shot is huge right now. let's make the third out, reset, and hopefully our lineup knocks out Greinke on top of the 6th with still a run lead.

Juiced Balls Means More Anxiety

Post#355 » by Ranma » Tue Oct 10, 2017 4:03 am

There it is. A homer from another unlikely Diamondback has cut the lead in half. This is why we shouldn't take our opponents lightly. They homered off of Morrow last time out and he actually made a good pitch.

that Cody's catch is a momentum changing play. I fully expect us to score a run this upcoming top of the 6th.

I dunno if we were taking them lightly, as opposed to guessing right and crushing a hanging slider....

Cody the Kid Flashing Serious Leather

Post#360 » by Ranma » Tue Oct 10, 2017 4:06 am

Bellinger made such a wonderful catch in the Dodgers' dugout. His teammates were late to save him from his fall, but at least Roberts and somebody else cushioned his descent a bit.
