I agree with Greenie. Technically his worth the contract because that's the Market. You may personally don't think he is worth it. But a Young 20+ scorer who still has potential went for the Market rate in the NBA. All NBA teams will be faced with these type of contracts in the future for many players. When you Consider Superstars are making almost 50-80 Million more these days. It's the Market rate.

Not laughing at your logic. Just think that Embiid got paid for less than 800 mins, and everyone involved knows that he will probably never be healthy.

For sure. He did make that much of an impact though. He's really, really good.

Embiid's contract details were recently summarized by Woj. The short of it is that apparently if he has a major injury related to his previous issues (foot, back) then the salary and cap hit is much less for Philly.

Looked at the per36 numbers for THJr and Wiggins...the numbers are somewhat of a wash across the entire board (each winning some areas).

Wiggins is Box Office, Tim is not. A player Like Wiggins puts people in the seats. THJ is not that kind of player. All these things have to be factored into stuff.

Thats crazy. Good find

And opponents shoot 3.5% worse when guarded by Timmy as opposed to 3.3% better when guarded by Wiggins
http://stats.nba.com/player/203501/defense-dash/

http://stats.nba.com/player/203952/defense-dash/

Timmy with the 103.1 DRTG (3.1 NetRTG) vs 110.4 DRTG (-.5 NetRTG) for Wiggins

http://stats.nba.com/player/203501/advanced/?Season=2016-17&SeasonType=Regular%20Season

http://stats.nba.com/player/203952/advanced/?Season=2016-17&SeasonType=Regular%20Season

Opponents averaged a PER of 11.6 and a .471 eFG% when guarded by Timmy last year (at SG) compared to 16.8 PER on .552 eFG% when guarded by Wiggins (at SF)

http://www.82games.com/1617/16ATL6.HTM

http://www.82games.com/1617/16MIN9.HTM

It seems that defensive stats overwhelmingly favor Timmy, who isn't supposed to be a good defender, over Wiggins who is supposed to be. I'll grant that Timmy is 3 years older, so that probably plays a factor, but last year was also Wiggins 3rd year in the league, when players typically take the leap

 No one's going to the game to see Wiggins. Towns and Butler are the draws on that team.

You should be laughing at yourself, cause You are HIGHLY missing the point. Wiggins puts more people in the seats by himself than a THJ would. If you cant see this I dont know what to tell ya. He is a much more exciting and Dynamic Player to watch. Wiggins Highlight reels blow anything away that THJ has. Even before Towns was there, Wiggins Brough Excitement to the wolves. People came out to see him. And the reality is that is People/wolves fans are coming out to see ALL THREE OF THEM. Not just 2. I would bet anything that Wolves Arena is flooded with Wiggins Jerseys. use common sense here.

when you say that's the rate you're correct because a lot of guys are making that kind of money. but you only have the ability to pay so many guys that kind of money. usually 3. are you paying the right 3 guys who can make you a contender for real ? if one of your guys is wiggins the answer is probably no. same goes for timmy.
