You could have signed any of them for a dollar now, so that should be the minium. If a GM gets a Steal So be it. The only ways its a Bidding process would be if another GM cuts a player as well. It should be first come first served. You should not have to get into a bidding war, because you might have noticed a player was doing good, you want him and he is under the radar, and them some lazy GM wants to jump on the bandwagon if they see a player being put on the auction.
For how much and how long though? Are you arguing that in season contracts should = $1. Like, I could go right now and sign Jabari Parker Posey Ring Around the Rosy Mitch McDonnell McGary Devon Harris George Ringo Chris Paul Larry Bird for $1/5???
I could see it if we could only do shorter contracts but say we get a Lin situation midseason where a guy is all of a sudden obviously worth more long term. I would think any longer commitments should be bid on.
Also, if somebody has cap room and could make a better offer to a player they should have that advantage.
As someone that don't have cap space and would be negatively impacted by this, yeah, I actually agree. Fair seems to be fair regardless of what it means for me personally.
