I mean everyone benefited but it seems kind of a shame that some of these records set back when fall in an era when everyone knows the laws of physics have been 'enhanced'...
Is it really a whole lot different than Bonds and steroids? Literally all the big hitters in that era were juiced, but Bonds get's an asterisk because he was better at it?
The thing is **** didn't cheat the game or the competitors he faced. Everyone plays with a juiced ball so they are on an even playing field. While there were a lot of steroid users back then, not everyone juiced and I'd venture to say less than half did. Obviously, the pitchers are getting the short end of the stick but their teams are playing with the same ball.
Juiced ball or not, it takes skill and some magic to hit 3 home runs in a postseason clinching game. The wind was blowing out some so that may have helped the ball whether it was juiced or not, so the weather elements come into play just like they have throughout the history of the game.
The game has gone through the dead ball era and the steroid era. Each point and time deserves to be judged accordingly. Somehow last night's performance by **** doesn't seem to apply to the juice ball narrative given the aforementioned weather element. It's also funny that **** joked in interviews that he hit more home runs in the game last night than he did in the preceding batting practice.
**** deserves this moment of glory for himself, his family, and the people of Puerto Rico.
