Rangers struck first but from that point on, it was all Blue Jackets...It's still early but I really don't like how this team is playing.

Well I mean Mika has looked amazing, everyone else not so much. Nash is looking like a complete zero out there right now, for all the talk of Kreider stepping his game up this year it's no where to be found. Rangers are already experimenting at center, this is gonna be a trend until someone step up.

It's early, but right now I gotta agree, this team isn't inspiring me at all.

Quite a difference from the offense that was averaging over 3 goals per game. I dunno.

The good news: Nash got his first goal.

The Bad News: Rangers fell to 1-5.

Rangers almost completed an amazing comeback. Down 0-2, they stormed back 3-2, then Pens tied 3-3, then Rangers went ahead again 4-3, then Pens tied it in the last minute of play 4-4...then Pens won in OT 5-4 but the Rangers get a point from OT loss.

So far, 1-5-1.

AV's time is running out...Lindy Ruff will be interim after that. Maybe they get a real coach like Sutter.

Again I'm no hockey expert but I thought AV was a credible respected coach?

You mean, the defending Stanley Cup Champs, Pens. ;)

I think this is a transition year.

The Rangers have never had that uber center since Lundqvist was goalie. They traded their 2 best centers Brassard and Stefan. They drafted two kids who are at least 1-2 seasons away from the NHL.

That leaves a gaping hole...and so it makes me wonder, what is their plan regarding Lundqvist's eventual exit via retirement?

Cam Talbot... wait no.

Igor Shestyorkin is the guy that's supposed to be the heir, he's over in KHL until 2019. Supposedly supremely talented, but like most of the world I only know what the articles say about him.

As far as the transition year goes, it might be. Years of trading away prospects for playoff pushes are starting to catch up now, but I don't blame them at all for that. I'm grateful that we tried these past few years. We still have a lot of talent on this team, I do believe in AV as a coach but this team is going to need to start showing something here.

Losing in OT to the lowly Isles sents a message.

This looks like a low risk trade, although we need forwards not D's.

https://www.blueshirtbanter.com/2017/10/21/16514654/rangers-trade-matt-puempel-to-detroit-red-wings-for-ryan-sproul

He's a 7th defenseman, however, Sproul's positives, in Ranger terms, are that he's big and shoots right-handed. He'll go to Hartford for awhile.

The San Jose Sharks obliterated the NY Rangers last night. It's time to wonder. It's time to maybe give Lundqvist less starts. It's time to recall 2 kids who weigh heavily in the Rangers future. Whichever the case. This team is painful to watch. NOT even remotely close to the team last season.

This season is not about competing but getting experience for call ups.

One time Brooksie was spot on...

Henrik is slower, AV has lost the team already, and moves will happen soon at this rate.

Only one of those was against an NHL team.

MY hope is, the Rangers get a shot at Center BORIS SÁDECKÝ.
