What's going on with Fultz. He was talking about being the MVP before draft and he's all kinds of lost right now.

Does Fultz have an injury or the yips or something? I refuse to believe his shot is this bad and just nobody noticed it this whole time. There has to be something going on.

He's playing for the Sixers is why. I mean, their moto is 'Trust the Process' which basically equates to 'Trust the Tank'. They don't seem to be putting much effort into anything else except getting talent and hoping for the best.

Ball will be a legitimate All Star soon. Very soon if not now.

Ball will be an All-Star whether or not his play warrants it. The media could not /possibly/ be more in the bag for this kid. All year we're going to be regaled with triple-doubles that, when you look at the box score will be 4-25 (2-6 from 3), 10 assists and 10 rebounds.

The collective media fellatio on Ball is just too much. Can we let the **** kid play before telling us how great he is, jeez...

There's nothing about Fultz to even suggest he's better than Tatum right now. He looks like he has ways to go. Seems like a no brainer right now or anytime in the near future unless Fultz does a drastic turn around.

this seems anecdotal...but something about the way he stands with slightly hyperextended knees really concerned me. I liked his game in college and considered him the #1 pick, but when I saw that pic of him with Ainge when he visited it seemed weird...too weird. Has nothing to do with reality probably, but it was a weird red flag for me, and I was stoked at the time of the trade more so because of the extra good pick.

looking good so far.

The refusal to take jump shots and the collapse of his FT form is most likely ephemeral. The guy was a jump shot fiend at Washington and SL - doesn't make any sense that he would completely and permanently break himself.

I'm still not sure exactly how good he is, I think it's going to take a lot more games before anyone has a great idea. I was not high on Fultz either though so I never hated the trade.

I'm huge on Lonzo so in that regard the trade is a bit tainted for me, but I can see why they didn't select him as it might have created a bit of chaos.

Taking Lonzo out of the equation this has been a very good trade. Passing up a future HOF'er though might make this look bad to future generations but context matters a bit here.

There are many chapters to unfold in all their developmental stories - need 3-5 years to know their potential.

I'll say that there's no way Tatum/Ball/Fultz are not starting level talents before the season is through, (barring injury).

Fultz has an injured rotator cuff and is out of shape because of his time off. He needs to drastically improve his diet, but he'll easily be in contention for as high a scoring load as he can handle.

Tatum has the most advanced skill-set but has the least physically projectable body for his rookie season. He'll produce, but efficiency will take time - especially with GH's injury forcing the issue.

Ball has the most limited scoring potential and the worst supporting cast. On top of that, he's being put under the most pressure to perform. He will get immeasurably better once there are 2 go-to scorers to play off of.

We got years

Surely we can avoid this god damn Lonzo Ball talk on a Fultz v Tatum thread. We’re as bad as the GB.

Plenty to discuss on this thread after watching the steaming pile of .... FT’s that Fultz is putting up night after night

Anyway, Fire Danny

His game blends a few players together for me, with some flashes of Pierce, Allan Houston, Dirk, and Aldridge.

He's surprised me defensively, though; didn't expect him to show this much impact on that end this early. He isn't great, all NBA level, but looking very solid.

Man, am I glad we ended up with Tatum.

Fultz is broken.
Ball is a sideshow.
Jackson is a punk.

It's impossible to revisit this question because there is so much mystery around Fultz's shoulder. In the summer league he showed the star potential a lot of us expected, but no one seems to know what's going on right now. If his shoulder is hurt so badly that he can't shoot, why not just rest him? Why let him screw up his mechanics and possibly create some bad habits?

If there is a diagnosis, why hasn't it been made public? If there is no diagnosis and they don't know exactly what's wrong, why let him play in some meaningless early season games, especially since he's also got a sore knee? Something really weird is going on in Philly.

Maybe their medical/training people really are incompetent. If that's the case, better fire them all quickly and replace them. A healthy core of Embiid-Fultz-Simmons is something I'd like to watch.

As for Tatum, he looks way more athletic now than he did in college. His leaping and lateral quickness have been much better than I expected.

But his rebounding has been is most impressive feature. For a teenager to be as good as he is in that department is incredible. Both his instincts and willingness to fight are fantastic. Imagine how good he'll be as he adds more strength. Hell, he's only 19, he might even grow another inch.

At this point Fultz doesn't look good at all. Josh Jackson isn't a complete player, dude can't even rebound. Lonzo had excellent game vs the Suns but the Suns are terrible. So we'll see if he keeps it up. Overall I'm very happy with Tatum.

Big chance Tatum or Fox end up being the best players out of this draft class.

Danny Ainge strikes again. It's early, but it's looking more and more like the Cs got the best player in the draft class, and stole a high future lottery pick for the privilege of doing so. UNBELIEVABLE.

Let's imagine the Cs getting Ayton this year (or the ~equivalent next year). The Nets haul could be summed up as:

1. Brown
2. Tatum
3. Kyrie
4. Ayton

I realize that Kyrie cost more than the Nets pick, but the trade was not happening without it.
