There were always two guards with him on the floor.

He's freaking long, provides more positional versatility.

One thing that stood out to me is his decisiveness, it's either shoot, drive or pass. This really is an indicator for his great BB IQ imo. Players like Okafor receive the ball, scan the floor, put the ball on the ground and then decide what to do, this really kills the flow of the offense.

And the kid can shoot, even if he misses it's at least a close miss, Stauskas' misses fly into the 5th row.

So good. It's not the shooting, although is stroke is sweet. It's the quickness of his decisions, the ballhandling, the quick and sharp passes. The sneaky rebounding for someone so slight is very, very telling. He's no less skinny than Lonzo Ball or Brandon Ingram, and he gets his hands on passes the same 'heady' way. Summer League, Eurobasket, scrimmages. He does this every time I see him. So good. Korkmaz & Bolden. Score.

well, we heard JJ and Brett yesterday. they seemed as knocked out as we were. maybe more. a number of scouts said he was the best shooter coming out of last year's draft. that, by itself, is a gift to this squad, but apparently it ain't the half of it. kid is a player, plain and simple. let him condition and develop in league games from the get go.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him play mostly SF. A lot of teams play smaller guys as their backup SF these days.

Kobble's right, should have left him overseas another year.

Just about everyone wanted him to stay overseas. You can't force a player to stay over when he wants to come over though. He was hellbent on coming over so we had to sign him. Staying overseas would have been the best thing but oh well.

You can create a compelling argument to say over there, such as "you'll be playing on the Sevens for 3/4ths of the season if you come over."

Maybe BC did make a compelling argument but Korkmaz still came over. Maybe he told Lessort and Bolden and Korkmaz the same thing that they won't get any run if they came over this year and Lessort and Bolden listened and stayed over but Korkmaz didn't care. I wish Korkmaz stayed over though.

I think the D-league might do him some good though. More consistent minutes to tighten his game up

this kid has got incredible ceiling, and someday someone is going to take advantage of it. meanwhile, i guess he can strengthen and work on his D. (meanwhile, Turkey ain't necessarily the best place to be hanging out these days. Autocrats tend to take the fun out of things in a big way.)

Seems like a practice thing where they'll call him back up before the next game. They'll likely do this a bunch this year.

Yup, they did a similar thing with Luwawu.

November 15, 2016: Assigned to the Delaware 87ers of the G-League.
November 16, 2016: Recalled from the Delaware 87ers of the G-League.
November 21, 2016: Assigned to the Delaware 87ers of the G-League.

TBH, at this point, I'd rather he play a bunch of games in the NBDL rather than being called up to sit on the bench.

Furkan "little Ginobili" Korkmaz is on the loose:
36min 17pts (6-16, 0-5, 5-7) 9rebs, 7asts, 3stls, blk, 3to.
We know he can shoot. So the 0-5 is nothing. I like that he's over 50% inside the arc (6-11).
Furkan can handle the rock, and he plays crafty defense.
He's way to skinny to be grabbing 9rebounds, 3steals and a block!

Brett Brown was hired by San Antonio as player development coach the year they drafted Manu Ginobili. Now he's got his hands on Korkmaz. I fought BC on both. But he hit on both TLC and Korkmaz. TLC's stroke is looking damn good so far.

He might as well stay there to get to play more. He is only an injury away from getting some minutes up here.

Looks like he had the potential game-tying 3 but had his foot on the line? Based on that highlight video and that fact he had no threes.
