I thought they would but they're more exciting now.
I see Kenny's vision now scoring comes from every position besides center.

I do. I think we'd be a much better team if he was still on the roster. Knowing Porter got matched, if I had to pick between him & Crabbe, I'd probably go with having retained Lopez.

As bad as it sounds, having dealt Lopez in the deal, it also frees up time for Mozgov. If he's not a complete liability in the next two years, there's a slim chance that we can get out of his deal a year early as he becomes an expiring deal.

Loved BroLo, but he was a 7 foot SG. He was replaced by DLo and Crabbe. Mozgov and Allen are a far superior combination doing the dirty work inside and playing D.

You think Lopez was better defending and rebounding than what we've seen from the Mozgov/Allen combo so far? Also setting screens and all the other things that are typically described by "dirty work"?

What have you been watching? any team with a good big man gets off. JA can become better than Lopez at rebounding, blocking shots, hustling but not yet.

we havent seen alot from allen but the litte we have seen is already better then lopez. if you notice, we not longer get destroyed by gaurds hitting short jumpers or layups on our centers in the pick and roll.

meanwhile lopez is doing next to nothing in LA and his minutes look like they are being cut down to reserve type minutes. we obviously havent missed brooks scoring leading the NBA in that area. defensively we no longer have that pick and roll liability.

We have one of the worst defenses in the league. We were #8 in DRTG post ASB with Lin/Foye/LeVert/RHJ/Lopez.
And Mozgov has been horrible on D.

post ASB and 5 games this year are a small sample.

you can tell by watching we are not a liability defensively in the pick and roll

we are 1000000% better off without lopez. we can play modern basketball now. he has been awful for the lakers as well

We are better without him because of who we got and signed. We played modern basketball last year leading the league in pace and threw up a ton of 3s. And no, we are not good at defending the PnR if Mozzy is in.

Which version of DRTG are you using? If that's the DRTG one from BBR that's heavily influenced by the box-score, those numbers should be taken with a grain of salt.

Lopez was one of the worst rebounding big men I've ever seen. He was a half way decent shot blocker, but it isn't saying much to say that the defense from the C position has improved after him. He is one of the best scorers at the C position in the last decade, but he has undoubtedly been one of the worst in terms of all around impact defensively.

either way we did what was needed... shift our cap space from center to gaurd and our scoring focus from center to gaurd... then drafted a modern center who can defend.

great moves by marks

Most infuriating thing about Lopez was always rebounding. Its as if he didn't care.

That alone made me happy we moved on.

And thankfully it won't be a problem with Allen.

It's not a stat but players get worn out defending too no one has to guard Mozgov...now they use all their energy to score.

No surprise the fans never appreciate what they have including myself sometimes (RHJ). Joe Johnson was a great player guys were glad to see him go now it's the same thing with Brook Lopez.

Swear that's why we can't have nice things we don't deserve them.

^Everyone on this board loved Brook for what he did for this organisation as a professional and a person.

Some of us here just understand his limitations, no one here is bad mouthing him just for the sake of it. The criticisms of Brook on this board in the last couple of years are legit and reasonable, and for every time he got criticised he was also praised for all the good he did.

Just because some of us (with reason) criticised Brook for what he is doesn't mean we didn't appreciate him.
