Post#1 » by Fat » Sun Nov 5, 2017 1:18 am

He's been huge for us so far and a walking double double machine :o, his hunger and activity level looks better too.

so far averaging 14/10 63% fg and 83% FT on 24 mins

last year he finished with 14/6 54% and 78% Ft on 21 mins while playing on a top team in the west

Yes. He's not some kind of Bargnani disaster so repeatedly jamming on their name as a brutal disease sure isn't very slick.

I think so. No question he's been a net positive so far. Fits surprisingly well next to KP too. Long season though, we'll see how it progresses.

What that video didn't have was how many times kanter disrupted the passing zones in the middle when a guy was cutting. He may not have gotten the steal, but he stopped easy passes in the paint from cutters.

I may rewatch the game and post those.

While I'm not ready to say he's worth resigning, or he's in the clear, what I do respect is his improvement in hustle, attitude, and defense after his benching. He could've sulked, complained and learned nothing. But he changed his approach. I can respect that

Kanter WANTS to be a Knick.

I want guys with Knick pride. Him and KOQ have got that.

I think Kanter is evolving because he wants this. I feel his desire. It's not sexual yet, but give it time

He's an easy player to like. There are valid criticisms to be made about his defense which we all knew was a weakness of his, but a lot of the constant negativity is coming from people with an alternative agenda who either desperately want to prove the Melo trade was a mistake and/or lamenting Willy not getting minutes and their irrational hysteria is not an accurate reflection of how Kanter has performed for us.

I’m a fan of kanter the person and he seems to have a good rapport with fans. Still hate his defense, but he’s trying and slowly attempting to get better

In a league where the Center position has become an endangered species, Kanter is above average. He’s better than half the centers in the league. Now he’s no All-Star and as mentioned he needs to work on his defense skills. But he works well with KP. He hustles and he’s consistently around the ball. He doesn’t quit and he plays with some grit and chip on his shoulder. He’ll never be top 5 at his position but he can be what we need for this team. We are fun to watch each game and Kanter is a part of that.

If some random guy we signed as an undrafted free agent was putting up 14 and 10 in 24 mpg people here would be calling him the next big thing.

I still remember when everyone was hyped about Jackie Butler.

Agree. The tandem of PK and Kanter has that Euro flavor and toughness. He's sort of KP's young enforcer out there.

A growth in his defensive game is slowly coming with Coach's tight leash. If he develops, at 25, a decent to good effort on D watchout.
