I still remember when everyone was hyped about Jackie Butler.

Kanters not an undrafted free agent, hes our highest paid player . That being said hes been very solid and out most consistent guy outside of KP. Kanters talent has never really been in questions just his focus and effort on the defensive end. He still has too many lapses there and you will see someone yelling at him every game when he messes up but its not as bad as it was last year.

Thanks for the info and for missing the point entirely.

Definitely respect Kanter for standing up to Lebron's coy tweets.

Because one is under contract for 1/10th of the other one for more years? Do you guys even look at our cap table and the salary cap?

This needs to be a pinned post

20 mil for a center producing the way he is in the market for centers right now is about the right value. And he's only 25. Name a better center on this roster or upcoming FA that's better than Kanter.

I want Kanter back, those who want Willy back can follow him to the next team he gets traded to.

Easily. That Bulls' 2nd rounder gonna be a better role player than Melo in a few years.

If he tried as hard on defense as he tries to become a fan favorite, he'd become a defensive monster.

He actually does. This stuff about his defense doesn't even make sense anymore. The only time he has really bad defensive lapses is when he tries not to pick up a foul that will send him to the bench, but for the most part he has been really solid defensively.

Kanter was carrying the team in the first quarter. His rebounding has become way to important for the Knicks. Plus he looks out for guys.

I'm becoming a Kanter fan. He has his flaws but he brings a lot to a team that goes beyond the court. His personality and how he stuck up for Ntilikina for example. They don't make dudes like Enes anymore.

Guys like Kanter are valuable to a winning team. His offense is elite, and sure, his defense is less than desirable, but he will go to war with you. How many guys would have gotten in Lebron's face like that to protect his 19 year old rookie. He's an enforcer and a guy who really loves to be here. Hopefully he somehow improves his D but he's a keeper.

I feel like people criticize a player's defense when they have nothing else bad to say. Individual defense is almost impossible to play in today's league. And it's not nearly as important as team defense. And if some lacks the lateral quickness & finesse to be a good one one one defender, it doesn't mean they don't play defense.

If WHG was doing what Kanter is doing, this board would be screaming "All-Star".

Kanter tried in OKC too...he's just not very quick laterally and not all that aware.

Love the guy, though. If he wasn't making $18 mil a year I'd love to have him.
