AH, I forgot, I am covering for Trex this week. I will have results in a few minutes.

Tracy McGrady - 4 (trex_8063, JordansBulls, dhsilv2, Clyde Frazier)
James Harden - 2 (pandrade83, penbeast0)
Sam Jones - 1 (Dr. Positivity)
Bill Walton -- 1 (janmagn)
As Tmac does not have a majority, we eliminate the two 1 votes, and it stands 4-2 for Tmac. I was late getting the vote in so I will call this one for TMac and try to do better on Tuesday night though I will be getting back a bit later in the evening.

Yeah, unfortunately his PS stats against Kareem don't look good. Those numbers I showed were from RS and it could be argued he was betterpandrade83 wrote:I don't think Walton is a subject for me until the final 5-10 spots. It's really all about that '77 season The peak is amazing - Top 15/20 or so.
But we tend to put the playoff performance vs. Kareem a little too high.
Kareem : 30/16/4/4 - 66% TS
Walton: 19/15/6/2 - 51% TS
Not to say Walton didn't play well - but it's really hard to say he outplayed Kareem even under the most favorable lens.

Just gotta say it. I have watched some walton from 77, maybe not enough but did the best I could. All that said 65 games?
I dunno, I normally wouldn't hold a 65 game season against someone, that's normally good enough, but for a guy with such a tiny career? I just can't see a 65 game season as a top 20 all time one. Am I being too critical on this? Is there context missing? I'd like to support Walton at some point and everything I've seen says he was pretty impressive at his peak, but to put him in the top 100 would honestly be based on what 123 "prime" regular season games?
I was a big pusher for Reed who's certainly got a short career, but most of it was prime, Walton had just those two short seasons of prime play.

The fact that they won the title - while sweeping Kareem's Lakers - is a huge part of the mythos surrounding that season. When you dig deeper, you see pretty quickly that he had a LOT better team (or at least that his teammates played a lot better in that series). So for me, it dings the overall quality of the season.
There were a lot of good centers in the league at that time - so I don't put a lot of stock in the RS performance against any of them - because I know that of the compilation of the RS#'s for centers in that era, a significant portion was against quality centers.
