Lol! Where was that insight when he posted here? Boy was a firestarter.

Perfect description of a heat fan. I'd say we lobby to get him back.

I must read the conversation between he, wildinger, and gom.

Don't think that's happening any time soon, KD. Boys stubborn as hell.

Damn shame. I'll keep my tab open with his posts on Reddit. He has the answers to why certain things don't feel right on our team. He's like a scout or a coach or something. Very polite too. Maybe he grew up? I was banned for my childish remarks too...he must have been worse.

Who else here has been holding out on us?

"there are lots of those guys.... we had one named beasley too... there are also other ones available that wouldn't need max salary to do it... nick young, jamal crawford, there are a lot of guards that can get you buckets... i am not arguing that...

the reality is when i pay over $20M/year , i want a two-way player. I am not saying Kyrie isn't an all-star, i am arguing what his team value is relative to that contract.

let's face it, we don't have a star so we need one that elevates the play of others.. plain and simple, especially with the commitment in a traditional big.. we need a wizard at the pick n roll since hassan isn't fully up to par since he can't space and initiate office (starting to with elbow DHOs).

basketball is still a team game and you are naive to ignore team data. More importantly, look at the team on top, they are always top 5 offense/defense team. You are not going to ever win teh finals by ISOing kyrie.

to put it in perspective, the warriors avg 31.08 assists/game and got 42 vs magic before us.

at just 2pts for every assisted basket, that's 62 points off assists, when we scored 95 against them.

Modern basketball doesn't lean towards ISO and mediocrity vs championship team, just leads to poor future with bad draft picks.

ISOing kyrie can be snuffed out in the play offs since the thibs overload defense. I am not blind to the eye test, I just am hyper aware of the road to an nba championship with data to support what my eye sees in terms in the player kyrie, but more importantly the evolution of modern basketball.

we need a scoring wing , not a scoring combo guard. We need a guard to get whiteside going, not buckets."

I asked him, he said he used to post here but got perma banned

To be a relatively small team the Heat can not be dead last in fastbreaks. Now it doesn't mean they need to play faster, but their is a lack of someone not snowbirding or a lead passer off of turnovers/stops.

Waiters fbpts 2.1, fbm 0.8, fbatt 1.7
Dragic fbpts 3.1, fbm 1.4, fbatt 2.3
Johnson fbpts 0.7, fbm 0.3, fbatt 0.7Image

Didn't have any data to back this up but I realized and said earlier this year that we've been terrible in transition. Can't have that. Aside from Dragic-Waiters being flat, the other guys just don't attack as often... I partially blame this on how small we've been going but haven't looked at the collective rebounding stats from last year

Ideally what can we do to get better? Any possible trade targets out there?

Looking at how the East is shaking out, i think we miss out on the playoffs. This team just isn't good. Time to start selling, rather then buying.

I think that Dragic's time on this team should be coming to an end. At 31 he needs to be on a legit playoff team. If we can get someone like Mudiay for him or recoup some draft assets that would be a solid move.

As much as I've been pro tank, I don't honk we're at an actual panic station, fire sale, fml type place yet. New Years is the time to have a real hard look, and between now and then these are the pass/fail points for me:
Celtics game - coming into it .500 or better
Xmas - within 1-game of .500
New Years - above .500

If we can't meet any of those markers then we are in a crap position, have likely just lost tie-beakers with other average teams, and have lost ground on the teams currently in that 7/8/9 race.
If we make only the last one, then there's a chance, and we may be turning a corner.
If we make some of he early, but not the last, then we're just too inconsistent to win enough to get to the PO.
If we smash all those goalposts then we're on our way to competing for the POs.

From here my A-grade cut-off at New Years is 5 games above .500, sitting at 21-16. I would have had that more like 27-10 preseason, but goalposts change :/

Miami's not tanking. The HEAT will be a mediocre team that gets into the playoffs next Spring.

This team needs to hire a potent offensive coach barely miss the PO this year to pay their due to Phoenix, trade the vets for some additional late 1rst rounders, and probably tank next year to draft a player with high level shot creating ability + a couple of complementary talents...

Just keep Jrich, Bam, Winslow, Williams and prob Olynyk to reach cap floor
