Re: Grizzlies Trades Thread
Tyreke Evans is playing very well. He is on a cheap contract for 1 year. 1) How do you rate the Grizzlies chances of re-signing him. With 1) in mind, 2) Will the Grizzlies dump him for assets? 3) What would the Grizzlies be looking for?

Re: Grizzlies Trades Thread
To be perfectly honest, the Grizzlies are so deep into a hot mess this season that it wouldn't make sense to even think about possible problems next year. Tyreke Evans will be a free agent next year, and I am pretty sure while he wants to get paid he is not interested in playing another dysfunctional season in Memphis. The Grizzlies do not hold his bird rights so they have no control.

Multi-Team Deal where the Grizzlies get Corey Brewer's expiring contract and 2019 Conditional Los Angeles Clippers First Round Draft Pick (via Celtics) for JaMychal Green
Conditions of the draft pick:
2019 first round draft pick from L.A. Clippers
L.A. Clippers' 1st round pick to Boston (via Memphis) protected for selections 1-14 in 2019 and 1-14 in 2020; if the L.A. Clippers have not conveyed a 1st round pick to Boston by 2020, then the L.A. Clippers will instead convey their 2022 2nd round pick to Boston [L.A. Clippers-Memphis, 2/18/2016; Boston-Memphis, 6/23/2016]

The Grizzlies would love to trade with the Lakers but not for Corey Brewer. Very interested in Randle or Nance and even Deng if Parsons goes the other way.

I was thinking the Celtics, not Lakers.
Something where the Celtics use their DPE on Vince Carter or Corey Brewer then send Carter or Brewer (both expiring) to Memphis with the 2019 Clippers Conditional 1st for JaMychal Green. I'm sure the Grizzlies would have no problem turning Vince Carter + Clippers 1st into Julius Randle, though.

Multi-team deal with Grizzlies getting Gorgui Dieng and the Clippers Conditional 1st for JaMychal Green and Brandan Wright... basically downgrading talent, worse contract, but adding an asset.

Re: Grizzlies Trades Thread
The Grizzlies are still pushing for a playoff berth. That's already looking like a tall task, so downgrading talent for a 1st that may very well turn into a 2nd might not be something that interests them. If they got into a more rebuild type mindset then something like this may be considered.

Re: Grizzlies Trades Thread
While I'm not very interested in the Wright trade you proposed to the Hornets for Marv, perhaps I could interest you in a trade that would be good for the Grizzlies future?
Memphis receives:
Dwight Howard
Nic Batum
Charlotte 2018 unprotected 1st round pick
Charlotte receives:
Chandler Parsons
Marc Gasol
As we all know, the West is stacked and going to remain that way for the foreseeable future. Your team is in a prime position to start building for the future after the top teams start to die out.

The Charlotte Hornets will win their first round series against the Boston Celtics in the 2021 Playoffs

Batum and Dwight don't fit the timeline for a rebuild though Dwight next year is a large expiring. The unprotected pick is nice but will likely be late lottery or worse after the trade. Batum himself is looking like a large negative asset and is under contract for longer than Parson. He could definitely turn things around but we aren't trading our all-star center for that when we should be able to get a better package.

What would the Grizzlies look to get in return for Marc Gasol and Mike Conley?

We would have to decide to go for a rebuild first but really as many picks/young players as possible. We would probably be willing to take on some bad money in the process (you aren't getting $50m of all good money back if you trade those two haha). I realize that helps you basically not at all, but I'm not exactly sure how it would all pan out and can't really fathom a good guess. Maybe Marc to the Bucks for a couple young players?

You couldn't possibly move both in the same deal, nor do I believe can you move them both in the same season. The return on that much money would not make basketball sense if you are trying to rebuild, which would be the impetus for trading both in the first place. Trading Marc Gasol would be easier but even that seems unlikely. Rebuilds are not for every market and it would be a lot to ask of this market. If there is an ownership change and the intent is to move the team to a much larger market, I don't know say Seattle then of course you start with moving both of them to grease the wheels in that direction. Short of that, I don't see it happening.

Memphis gets Bayless, Luwawu, 2018 BKN 2nd, and 2019 SAC 2nd for Tyreke and Brandon Wright.

I actually like that. Bayless only has one more extra year so a good second seems fair. Tyreke is worth a high 2nd/late 1st so we are getting that. Wright for a young prospect is positive and I think covers any potential minor negative value of the previous two comparisons. Nice idea.

I like it, don't bring it to the Trade board because it will be nitpicked into a bad idea haha

Piggybacking on an idea in there...
Mike Conley to Orlando
Evan Fournier and 2018 Earliest of Grizzlies/Heat/Hornets Second Round Draft Pick to Detroit
Elfrid Payton, Mario Hezonja, Stanley Johnson, Jon Leuer and 2018 Pistons Lottery Protected 1st to Memphis

That’s the case with almost very thread there. There are... a lot of sacred cows, so to speak.

If CHA would do this, MEM almost has to do this I would think. But I consider Parsons worse than Batum.

What would it take for you to take a deal for Shumpert or J.R. Smith from Cleveland?
