Maybe in a way that they both make their teammates better, but i dont really see other similarities.

Winning with the Bulls would obviously mean the most. It seems like destiny that he wind up there & build around he & Markkanen.

Mavs seem like a solid landing spot.

He & Fox on the Kings would bring that franchise back to prominence.

Also, regarding Markkanen, he doesn't have much in common stylistically with Porzingis at all.

Defense matters and we don't have Al Horford anymore who makes ish defensive players look good. We would need some major draft changes and personnel changes. We aren't built to take flawed players like we were in previous years.

Terrific rebounder thanks to the combination of an aggressive motor and soft hands ... Unselfish and timely passer ... Overachiever. High basketball IQ ... Makes those around him better, possesses sense of maturity and leadership qualities ...

Lacks explosiveness, agility, elusiveness and quickness off the bounce

A lot of similarities when you read Green's profile. Actually Doncic sounds like Green, but instead of elite defense he brings elite attack to the table.

Green does have elite agility though as of right now. I can't say he did at MSU but he does now. That said, I don't see Doncic as that type of athlete. He doesn't have Green's length and he's athletically a lot like Chandler Parsons on both ends of the court.

Doncic is nothing like Green (whose telescopic arms make him an elite defender among elite defenders) apart from both having great IQ.

Yeah, you can't take flawed players, you need the perfect player. Ayton and Bagley seem to be defensive powerhouses, basically KG, only better.

In any case I've always hoped he would not go to Atlanta and I still hope he doesn't get picked by them.

I seriously think that Doncic might end up being the best defensive player out of the top 4 (Ayton, Bagley, Porter). He might struggle in some bad 1on1 matchups, but defense is more than just individually covering people 1on1.

He has the smarts, strength and most important, a very strong competitive spirit and will to win. It's the main reason why he's already so good, he's literally OBSESSED with basketball, to the level that's extremely rare even among the best NBA players.

It's extremely rare to find someone who loves basketball and winning and hates losing as much as he does. It's up there with Jordan and Petrovic. It's the quality that most of his doubters ignore a bit too much.

Take a stroll through comments section, if you dare.

Americans feel threatened by an 18 year old :)

I have a challenge for the bravest of souls. Each time Rubio or Milicic is mentioned in above mentioned comments, take a shot.

I actually thought most of those comments were ok. Sure, couple of racist remarks but more often jokes than not. We need to keep in mind that the people reading that article are not well informed on basketball prospects and most of them have probably heard of him for the first time. I'd be equally skeptical in their shoes, knowing the hype that can be created by mass media. :) Luka will be fine. If he turns out to be a great player, he will become an instant fan favorite in US of A.

I just wonder how he Will do once he gets out of his comfort zone, Madrid has basically been his second home for 5 years now. The transition to a different culture does take a toll.

He moved to Madrid as a 13 y/o boy, having no friends or family there (his mom only joined after a few months I believe) and he turned out just fine :) He will have his girlfriend with him (probably), so I don't see any issues there.

As for the Green - Doncic comparison: they are NOT the same players, obviously, I never stated that. But people had a lot of doubts about Green at draft - he was a tweener, who could play PF, but didn't have the size for it (Luka has the handles and craftiness, but not the speed to defend PG), they both have/had outstanding BB IQ, they both have/had high motor/energy and passion for BB, they both are/were elite rebounders for their size and unselfish players who'd distribute the ball around and make players around them better. They both have/had a couple of extra pounds. They are/were both deemed unathletic for the draft.

So how are there so similarities? How are they nothing alike? Don't just look at their skin color and compare a 25-27 y/o Green to 18 y/o Doncic. Compare them pre-draft. Because so many of you doubter are writing Luka off just because of his lack of elite athleticism.. Green is a good example how you can succeed also with lack of it and high BB IQ. And I also don't think Luka is going to be as bad defensively as some of you here seem to expect, with his offensive usage (and daily trainings) going down in NBA, he will definitely have more energy to play his heart out defensively, which he already showed glimpses of this season, but of course if you just look at highlights you can't notice that.

Exactly my point. General audience doesn't even know what the fuss is about :) On this board, we basically track his every move... (BTW, he plays ACB today vs Monbus @ 18.30h CET)

Poor sap will have to play whole his NBA career perfectly or else :D

They're playing against second best defensive team in ACB so it should be interesting to see how they do attack-wise.

Also yes, most of those comments can be attributed to ignorance and lack of knowledge.

Amazing how much better Real looks when Doncic has the keys of the offense in his hands.

They double Doncic on every possession and Madrid finally got used to playing 4 on 3.

He's playing so effortlessly.

You wont see it in his stats, but every time they double team him on a pick, he finds an open man who makes the extra pass for a wide open shot. They've been getting wide open looks this way whole first half and it all starts with Luka creating advantages.

Also he hit another full court shot but the shot clock already expired.

His triples aren't falling today (except the 1 he hit from full court after the whistle), but he's feasting in the PnR.
