Re: Trae Young
How's he going to go defending the top 10 PGs who score 20+ a night?
Seems non existant as a defender.

Does it really matter if he produces like this offensively? Kid is unreal (and yes I'm aware not everything translates).
He's like a Steve Nash/Steph Curry hybrid.

Atlanta - Schroder
Sacramento - Fox
Chicago - Dunn
Orlando - Payton
Phoenix - Ulis
Cleveland - Thomas
Memphis - Conley
Dallas - Smith
Philadelphia - Simmons
Charlotte - Walker
I'd say Orlando and Phoenix are the standouts in terms of need but not sure in terms of BPA.
I don't think Atlanta, Phoenix, Orlando, Philly, or Cleveland would pass on him. Philly always goes BPA and plays positionless basketball anyhow. I don't know if Atlanta views Schroder as their PG of the future. Same with Orlando and Payton. And definitely Phoenix with Ulis. Finally I doubt the Cavs resign IT with his max contract aspirations.

Re: Trae Young
I can see him having an "IT" like career as his absolute high side.
But with that weak azz wingspan he can also bust out, hopefully he's more IT than Jimmer lol

Re: Trae Young
I know the Kings already drafted Fox, but I would take Young over him. Fox has been struggling lately and I think Young's playstyle fits perfectly with the current NBA.

Yeah I don't know if I'd draft him top 5 yet, but if guys like Porter or Jackson are on the board I'd be reaching out to these teams that are already 'set' at PG to see what I could get by trading down and hopefully still picking up Young. I liked him better than Duval before the season and he's moved ahead of Sexton (who doesn't play a whole lot of defense himself) for me.

Re: Trae Young
I worry about his defense too, but having an offensive player like that on the floor just forces the defense to react. It's the threat of a player shooting from 30 feet with a quick release that puts pressure on the defense more than him actually taking those shots.

Highest Volume Off The Dribble 3PAs and their % in 2017:
Curry 36%
Thomas 36%
Walker 35%
Westbrook 34%
Lillard 34%
Harden 33%
Looks like he's going to be on this list if his game translates.

Freshman in college averaging 28/10. Dear lord. Lonzo led all of college last year with 7.6 apg. I didn't even think those numbers were possible.

The kid is dropping 30 and 10. He will defend the top 10 PGs the same way the top 10 PGs defend other top 10 PGs. Hint, they dont bother.

Everyone talking about defense, but I don't see him as lock in offense either. Could he become a Curry type of a player? Sure, everything is possible. But I think it's more probable that he's a complete bust and we see him in Europe in 5 years. Or scoring 70 points in China like Jimmer Fredette.
BTW, I will believe he is the real deal when President of the United States says he is the real deal, just like Obama said about Jimmer.

Phoenix doesn't see Ulis as a PG of the future. He is a backup PG and BFF of Booker.

Which part? That it's more probable for him to bust than to become Steph Curry or that Trump signs an executive order praising him as the best shooter in the country?

Let's just say he has more chance of becoming a Curry type player than Doncic becoming a Harden type player.

What's type exactly? For me type is about style of play. I don't care about style of play. I am talking about level of play. If you are also talking about the level of play, then you are basically saying that Trae Young should be drafted before Luka Doncic. We would have to agree to disagree on that one.

I think that Young should be drafted before Doncic. He is a better player now and will be a better player in the future.

I want to agree with it, but i'm still hesitant. He is special though.
I have my doubts with Doncic that's for sure.
