39 points 14 assists 4 rebs 2 stls 7 TO.

I think he struggled compared to himself. TCU had a great defensive gameplan against him. I still think his defense is a big issue.

But you gotta love him.

Yeah, still forced it a bit too much imo and he was gifted a bunch of FTs. I loved his acceleration and deceleration coming off screens and his perfect timing on his passes once he got inside the paint.

Defense though..... TCU looked great on offense because he couldn't recover nearly well enough against their PnR.

Is there a single player you'd take over Young as a previous pick 2?

Trae is incredibly shifty and quick. I don't think his handles are elite but they are one notch below that which won't be a problem on the next level. I think his ceiling is a slightly better damian lillard(not comparing playstyle but impact)

He is looking really good, his shooting ability and his range is crazy.

What are his weaknesses and can he make it in the NBA?

His biggest weakness is his size but he overcomes it with quickness. He will thrive with NBA spacing.

Defense and finishing. Yes he can make it in the NBA despite those - he's shooting 52% on above-the-break 3s and if you go too far out to trap him he's a very good passer as well.

You can tell guys really love playing with him by their reactions from the bench and such. There was one play in the second half I think where Young fell down while trying to get a rebound and a teammate abandoned going back on defense to help him up.

He got 39/14, but he didn't play nearly as good as those stats indicate. Was a nice game from him, but he showed his major weaknesses with his inability to finish around the rim. I don't think he gets most of these calls in the NBA either.

He attempted nearly 30shots..which is insane. His green light is greener than Jimmer's.

Still have him in my top 5, but I don't get why it's so wrong to critique a game. We're talking about him as a NBA prospect, not a college player. 39/14 is still amazing though.

Yeah its crazy people are pinpointing Young's weakness. Wonder how Trae will make their mouth shut up once he gets to the NBA.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

One of the reasons I like him over other players he makes others players and its getting contagious. I am impressed how decent as a human being before he is a basketball player.

Hmm. As a Suns fan, wow. I take him at 3 or later, and if the Suns got one of the top two picks, I would consider trading back to three and taking him. Of course, by draft time, that might not be an option.

But Bagley and Bamba have played well too. Porter is the wild card. He could drop because of his surgery.

Head over to Bagley's thread or Ayton's thread, or any Doncic thread, Bamba's thread and so on and you'll see the same thing. People praising and critiquing performances and speculating on what will and won't translate to the next level.

Trae is not the only prospect where people are pointing out his weaknesses.

Crazy to think this dude had a subpar game- he did- yet he finished with 39 and 14 and his team beat the #10 ranked team in the country on the road.

Is he shooting those pull up 3s far enough away that they would be also uncontested against NBA defenders?

That extra couple of feet that NBA defenders can creep up have nullified Lonzo Ball's much hyped range.

I don't know exactly how far that would be, but Young has made a higher percentage of NBA range threes than Lonzo did while attempting over twice as many per game.
