Funny ...

[url][/https://www.si.com/nba/2018/01/03/philadelphia-76ers-joel-embiid-injury-ben-simmons-the-process-playoffsurl]

Seems all the eggsperts are doing their best Neon-Deion Sanders impression backpeddling off the predictions of greatness for the '6ers.

Cute how most are basically saying, "Bwah, they're just struggling a-cause Embiid is hurt."

Well, has he ever been healthy? Shouldn't you (as an eggspert) have taken that into account with your prediction?

Whaaat, Embiid is hurt? Who saw that coming? Uhhh, everybody who was paying attention. That's who.

You're taking a lot of joy in this aren't you?

My fear with them missing out on the playoffs yet again, they could end up with two lottery picks to add to that core. :banghead:

If they walk out with Mikal Bridges and/or Jaron Jackson, Jr...It'll be real difficult to get past that.

Is it that obvious?

I mean, I was fistfighting with '6ers fans on the GB who were clearly looking for this team to go 83-0. I kept saying, uh, Joel's gonna play like 50 games at best. JOkafor's gonna be check'd out or traded. Fultz is a rookie, on and on and on. How was their over/under set at like 43 games? It made no sense.

So, yes I do take a bit of joy in their struggles. And I'm not concerned with them finding success in the lottery. They needed like 7 cracks at it to find the 2 that appear closest to actually working out. And, if I'm being honest, I don't put Embiid in the 'worked' column until he can play a full season so I call them 1 for 7 right now.

I remember that GB thread and you were so right (you should bump it up :D) - unrealistic expectations placed on the Sixers particularly when their best player can't stay on the floor and their core group is so inexperienced.

I'll bump the thread one day when I feel like another cage match.

Lou Williams is beating Golden State by himself right now. 44 points.
He had 27 points in the 3 period.

Early in the year, Miami fans were lamenting that Bam had been chosen over John Collins. That chorus has lessened as Bam has emerged as a force the last couple games.

Read on Twitter

In Tuesday’s game in Toronto, Adebayo finished with 16 points, 15 rebounds, three assists and five blocks in 33 minutes. The performance included new career-highs in rebounds and blocks.

If all of that isn’t encouraging enough, Adebayo also logged extended minutes alongside starting center Hassan Whiteside for the first time this season. Adebayo and Whiteside played 14 minutes and Miami posted a strong defensive rating of 77 points allowed per 100 possessions.

with the way Adebayo played Tuesday, it’s going to be hard to keep him off the court.

Lou Will has been channeling his inner South Gwinnett-Lou these past couple games.

They probably have no idea about this love affair or that Sprewell said he's not able to feed his family.

Toronto put a hurting on Cleveland tonight.
If Cleveland continues to play no defense put some money on Boston or Toronto to represent the Eastern Conference.

I'd throw the Wizards in there too...they've been together a minute.

I honestly think what we're seeing in CLE is Lebron leading a rebellion to force them to trade that BKN pick. They literally haven't tried on defense pretty much all year. These losses have been inconceivable considering the level of talent on that team.

Halfway point of the season and the playoff teams are basically set as usual. Great league! I guess there's a chance the Clippers knock off the Pels for the 8th in the west, or maybe the Knicks or Sixers sneak in instead of Indy. If those 'races' don't thrill you and you're not fixated on seeding then enjoy the trade deadline and check back in a few months when the real season starts.
