That would be amazing to get to that point. I mean we completely threaded the needle to get Simmons that year.

If we get to that commercial break the tension in Philly and Boston would be thick, and I would dance the geek dance if we ended up with the first pick. Then I would pray again on the altar of Sam Hinkie. Lol

But you can go to the altar of Colangelo and break it too, when you realize he gave them DeAndre Ayton

To me, this draft is about Doncic and Ayton. If the Celtics fall to #3, #4 or #5 I can see them adding another good player, but not someone with star potential.

Porter seems like the best of the rest, but he plays the same position as Tatum, not very intersting to them.

The draft can change and is changing right before our eyes. Trae Young, if he keeps this up, could really shake up draft positions. So much so that a Doncic or Ayton could/would be available at the 3 spot.

As the college basketball season goes on. BC's first and defining trade looks worse and worse. Only the Lakers can save us from ourselves this year. And that is just crazy.

Lakers play Hornets, Hawks, Mavs, Kings and Grizzlies in the next 6 games. If they can win 4 of those 6, they could wel be in position 6-7 again in no time.

Thing is that the Lakers have nothing to lose for, while in march, we will see a lot of those teams (SAC, ATL, PHO, ORL, ...) starting resting players.

It's going to be a close one for our pick, I don't see them ending up last or second to last. More 5th/6th worst.
I'm starting to root for W's for them tbh

If the Lakers want to sign LeBron or PG13 or even Cuz... they’d better get it together and win games.

Lakers have had an absolutely ridiculously tough schedule the past month. They aren't a bottom 5 team and they won't finish bottom 5. Teams also will start tanking post all star break. The Lakers will not.

More like the Lopez effect. They did nothing to address their back up center and its killing them with him out.

When PG13, Cousins, and LeBron decide to go there, you'll swallow these words.

But really, in addition to them sucking, the issue is that several teams are playing better than expected...Chicago, Brooklyn, New York. We can only hope a few teams pass them and they finish 5th or 6th.

I think I’m also fine with the lakers finishing with like the second worst record, which is where they are now. Gives us a decent shot at the number 1 pick, and if it does go to the Celtics, I expect the Sacramento pick to be in the lottery next year anyway. I do think the lakers ultimately will move up a couple spots though before the season ends.

I wonder, at what point, do the odds on the 1 pick become greater than 6 or below? Meaning, when do we start praying for the lottery balls because the Lakers don’t have a shot @ 6. I guess Lakers/Hawks today will becan indication.

They're only a game behind the 5th worst record (at which point the Sixers have a greater than 50% chance of retaining the pick). Probably a while it gets that clear (if it ever does)

How do you think the draft lottery will be presented in terms of the 14 seats? Celtics are in the playoffs so they are not included in the 14 seats. Sixers will be seating for the spot of the lakers. Do you think they will give another seat for the celtics representative?

Yeah they'll be there. The Wizards traded their pick top 3 protected a few years ago. They had like the 12th spot so there was very little chance of them getting to keep their pick, still sent a rep.

So the celtics will be just standing in the background just in case they win their pick? They wont be included in the 14 seats?

In that picture, Josh Harris is sitting next to BC. Unless my eyes are totally deceiving me.

the C's might get the pick cause of the lottery, but I think pre-lotto it's gonna be out of the top5, Atlanta, Memphis, Chicago, Orlando, and Sacramento are gonna end the year with a worse record than LA 100%, Dallas, Phoenix, and Brooklyn are gonna be in the same range.

LA is gonna push when all those teams, other than Brooklyn, tank for real.

So you're home watching some prospect vids, a week out from the draft, there's a phone call: "Hi, Fis, Bryan Colangelo here, if you didn't know I'm with the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA. I read the realgm forums everyday and I see you post a bit in the draft forums. Who do you think we should draft with the 7th pick in the draft?"
