Interesting moment here regarding journalism.

Notice how Carlisle is pissed and basically says "We give you access, we expect the articles to be written a certain way" - within certain parameters.

Consider this when you read reporting on politics.

It's ridiculous and made completely turn against his line of thinking.

I think Lavar was sort of rude. It's a weird situation because he got a platform as a "reporter" or on a "news" show, at the same time having a son on a team. So it DID sort of cross a line, in that, hey, show a little decorum. On the other hand, I'm pointing out, for those who might not be aware, that trading access for "staying inside the lines" in journalism is a real thing. This is just a lightweight, not that eventful version of it, but you see how it works. And I bet Carlisle doesn't see anything wrong with it and I bet some politicians, who SHOULD know better, might not either.

The other level to look at it is the obvious thing that ESPN isn't really news, even though it hides behind that moniker. Or it's semi news, or "Sports Infotainment". So, it's like "hey, you can PRETEND to be a reporter" but don't say anything that might be true or against the "rules", because this is showbiz, which we won't say, and pretend it's "news". Not unlike how MSNBC and FoxNews serve up "news" quite often

Lavar can say whatever he wants, just like Kaepernick, and that's how it will all turn out. Nobody will want the distraction.

I just loved how ESPN and Laker reporter Ramona Shelburne tweets what the Lakers should do about Lavar and yet, continues to GIVE Lavar Ball press when she should take a page out of Charles Barkley's playbook, "Who?"

While I get what you're saying... I think Carlisle's message is being slightly twisted (of course by the media which actually backs up what you're saying in a way  ). To me, Carlisle's main beef isn't the fact that the media should not be advocating for a coach to be fired. It's more of the issue of ESPN trying to turn an illegitimate source into a legitimate source to push an agenda and basically using a fan made rumor (Yes as high profile as Lavar is he is still just a fan like you and me) to basically put a coach on a fabricated hot seat.

Media has a right to have an opinion and I don't think Carlisle has a beef with that or at least I didn't take that way. It's more of how the media is passing an opinion off from a loudmouth fan as having some truth that has him and, i'm assuming, other coaches peeved.... Because where do we draw the line on legitimate rumors and news stories if Lavar Ball is allowed to have a legitimate say/influential voice in coaching positions in the league? It's a dangerous line ESPN is towing right now especially since they are official partners of the NBA and I totally get where Carlisle is coming from even if it seems he may be coming at freedom of press a little too hard...

I'd trade Ball and wouldn't look back.

Hope that family is out of the league soon. This is a disgrace. I'm rooting against them even though that doesn't help my Karma. But he'll learn the hard way and his scumbag dad too. That's how it goes. We just need to relax and wait a little.

That's close. Stupid close, but I'd take KP/THJ just because KP has the highest celling.
Brooklyn Nets
Damian Lillard - Rajon Rondo - Trey Burke
Victor Oladipo - Wes Matthews - Javon Carter
Caris LeVert - Derrick Jones Jr. - Glenn Robinson III
Andre Igoudala - Killian Tillie - Trey Lyles
Joel Embiid - Taj Gibson - Kevon Looney

That fall looked as bad as the Cavs big men vs the Wolves. What a joke.
