I want picks. The corpse of StanJo isn't enough incentive. I mean, we can simply keep Can't until next trade deadline where he'll be a bit more valuable.

I like Baze as a person so I hate to criticize him too much but we should take the first opportunity we have to trade him. Despite his improved stats he continues to be way overconfident offensively and screws the end of games for us. Exhibit Z, last night's game against the Clips.

How low in the 20s, and what's the salary? Hawks took on $17 mil of Crawford ($13 mil buyout) for a 1st last year. The number of teams with capspace and the amount of the capspace is at a premium this offseason. I think the cost to dump contracts will be more costly. My guess:
1 year left at $12 ish
2 years at $9 ish.
Higher salaries will require your team taking back a smaller bad contract, similar to the Carroll deal.

None right now. I want to see what's available in the draft first. At the moment, I am only interesting in moving Ersan, Bazemore and Marco for picks plus expirings.

At the trade deadline, Ideally I'd rather move our expirings for picks/young player on rookie deal (even 2nds), Gortat would be a draft day/2018 FA season trade.
Hawks need to keep cap sheet clear for offseason.

I will be 100% with you. I would not be interested in these types of deals. It made sense last year as we needed more assets. But we got a lot of assets. At this point, we need better assets. This is where I would like things like Brooklyn is getting. Where I would take your contract, but give me a D. Russell type of prospect. If the Lakers wanted to move Deng, I would take him, but give me Ingram or no mas. That's what I am looking for. If we are taking a contract, I would like that contract to come with a valuable asset. A 16-30 pick isn't attractive at all. We are loaded with these types of picks for the next two drafts.
An asset to me at this point considering what we already have is another top 8 pick in this draft. I like Miles Bridges. That's an option. Maybe even Trae Young is an option. But these aren't guys we would be interested in, with our top 4 picks. I would rather trade up without giving up our 2019 1st to land these types of players if the opportunity presents itself.
Cleveland and Charlotte come to mind. Utah is a possibility as well but this is all during the draft, not right now.

Bazemore will be traded. Too many teams need wing help and Bazemore is still a starting caliber wingman. That said, I don't know what we can get back for him. I would just be fine with an expiring or a mid 1st range with someone back like Solo Hill. Having an expiring and supreme cap flexibility is needed.

I'd prefer Moore from the 'Cans.

Don't sell him short. Our tank driver was only doing his best to insure our staying on the bottom of NBA.
About trade thoughts: I wonder, what would we give for that first round pick that came from LA to Boston?
Probably would require a three way trade? Or, is there a possibility there at all?
Just asking. And, are we trading our tank driver? So many thoughts about Hawks future.

Don't trade with Ainge and Boston.
Just ask Philly, Cleveland, Dallas how well those trades worked for them.

Re: Atlanta Hawks Official Trade Ideas Thread (Part 2)
From the Trade Board....Cavs are in need of an upgrade at SG from JR Smith.
Bazemore and Ersan for JR, Frye, Cedi Is man (22 yrs) and Cavs 2018 1st.
Hawks save approx $5 mil on the Bazemore Contract, Frye is expiring. Hawks get young prospect and pick.
Cavs upgrade their SG spot, by the number Baze has been better than JR this year. He'll fill the role on the Cavs he's made to play aaannnd, he reunites with good buddy Kyle.
Oh....but what do the Hawks do with JR? Will he revert to being a headcase?

I would do it if we could flip JR after and I think we would need to...he wouldn't want to be here and honestly I wouldn't want him around the kids with his shirt off.

Cavs have a 1st this year? I thought they traded it to Portland? Plus Smith contract is horrendous. Hell naw. This is super trash. Wait, if this is for Brooklyn's pick than yes. I'll do this trade.
I don't know if Atlanta will want J.R.'s contract, the player, or his presence and Frye will clearly want to be moved to a contender. So something like moving Frye to another team for a 2nd rounder and an expiring contract would work. I am not sure Cleveland will want to make this trade. While Bazemore would be an excellent fit with James, IT and those boys, this is a high price to pay. That Brooklyn pick is basically what they traded Kyrie for along with IT. Then again, J.R. has been really bad.
This deal is fair but man. The cost is steep for both teams. Atlanta would have to eat that J.R. Smith contract. He would be Isiah Rider 2.0 here but worse.
That said, I'll say yes. We need two top 10 picks in this draft. With our other picks, it will give us flexibility but it removes cap flexibility and gives us a Plumlee like contract with a Dwight like negative influence. Smith is completely on the decline. He can't even move that well anymore.

No one is taking that contract. It's Deng or Noah like.
