Rival Execs Call Justise Winslow Miami's Jahlil Okafor

Justise Winslow has been labeled as Miami's version of Jahlil Okafor by multiple rival executives.

Winslow was a highly touted prospect out of Duke in the 2014 draft as Okafor also was at the time. Winslow was limited to 18 games last season and has struggled to establish himself in the NBA.

Winslow has remained in Miami's plans unlike Okafor who was traded by the 76ers.

Winslow hasn't played since early December due to a knee injury.

i don't see enough of winslow to know, but isn't his issue just a matter of the talent not quite panning out? doesn't he work pretty hard and have leadership characteristics? and isn't okafor's problem being an immensely talented bum?

i get jah, being a local kid. maybe he'd turn it around for the hometown.

at this point, both would be cheap. value couldn't be much lower.

He's just a bad shooter, doesn't have any touch. Don't think it's a matter of effort or attitude.

Wonder if MIA (or CHA for that matter) should have taken the rumored BOS deal that Ainge said he threw out there?

Glad the Knicks passed on him and drafted Porzingod instead. Knicks aren't great right now but they would be nowhere if they drafted this dude. He certainly isn't Franchise player caliber.

Can't believe Danny almost traded up for this guy. Especially with Rozier coming into form this season.

And I think that's a particularly unfortunately combination, as it never allows you to try to improve and get comfortable with your shot.

Maybe he's more like Miami's Lonzo Ball LOL.

Not even close, Lonzo Ball is a smart player with incredible court vision. Percentages aside, he's putting up Draymond numbers as a rookie point guard

Justise has terrible O.. but his defense is real. So atleast he can be in as a defensive stopper. Eventually his shot will get better... I hope? Look at Kidd Gilchrist.. His shot never looked like it would ever work, but now it goes in more.

I’ll take this bet. Other than scoring in the post, he’s a negative everywhere else. And even then he’s got below average efficiency. And scoring in the post is a skill teams don’t use as much in today’s game. Terrible motor and effort. Terrible rebounder. Doesn’t spread the floor. Can’t defend inside or out. It’s not that he’s just a negative on defense, he’s a huge negative on offense too.

He’ll be going the way of Anthony Bennett sooner than your think.
