I’d look into trading Willy for Semi Ojeleye. Celtics have a glutton of Wings and need a big.

Wanted us to find a way to get him in the draft. Thought Semi would be a stronger, if y'all can imagine that, version of Crowder.

his offensive game is so horrid though...he is jared jeffries.. ill pass

If Jeffries had elite level physicality and athleticism I’d agree. His body was made for NBA. Jeffries was a big Gumby

I'm not handing Billy over to division rival Celtics without getting MORE from them. He's a double double machine with minutes and would be ANOTHER young piece for them.

I'd DEMAND the Lakers pick too.

Doubt we’d get the Lakers pick. I like Semi as part of a deal, not as the deal.

B/R

New York Knicks: Sell
20 OF 30

Issac Baldizon/Getty Images
A brutal January schedule should sort out any conflicting feelings within the New York Knicks braintrust. When the deadline rolls around, New York either will be a triumphant achiever ready to chase down destiny after surviving a punishing, road-heavy slate...or beaten into the dust.

In which case, the Knicks will be looking to sell.

The smart money is on the latter outcome—partially because Kristaps Porzingis is fading and admittedly tired, and partially because the Knicks already have proved to be trash on the road. Only the Hawks and Utah Jazz have fewer wins away from home.

So the Knicks should see what they can get for O'Quinn, Courtney Lee and any other veterans that don't figure to matter by the 2020-21 season, which is hopefully when KP, Frank Ntilikina and whomever New York gets with a high lottery pick this year are ready to legitimately compete.

I just think Willy’s value is a sunk cost. I’d be shocked if he had same value as the summer.

Players like Ojeleye, KCP etc should still be our generally targeted profile though.

Would you take on Dengs contract to get Ingram while also giving up Billy?

Yes, but they’re not doing that and the salaries don’t match.

With the emergence of Kuzma and the speculation that P. George and/or Lebron will end up being a Laker, do you think it’s possible that the Lakers trade Ingram while getting back assets in order to shed Clarkson and gain the capital to sign another top tier FA or missing parts.

My proposed trade would involve the Lakers and Knicks and goes as follows:

Knicks Acquire - Ingram, Clarkson
Lakers Acquire - Kanter, W. Hernangomez, 2018 Top 10 protected 1st

Knicks would get their man for the wing in Ingram and create a dynamic pairing with KP to build around. Clarkson might benefit with the change of scenary and become a nice piece in the guard rotation.

Kanter is most likely going to opt out leaving the Lakers with more cap space to go all out in free agency. They also get an asset in Hernangomez who can become their center for the future. They add a 1st rounder for trading Ingram who might be hard pressed for minutes anyways if the Lakers free agency plans goes as planned.

lol no. They wouldn't trade Ingram if it was Deng instead of Clarkson in that trade.

Clarkson isn't a negative contract. IMO they could trade him anytime pretty easily.

Hornets Acquire:
Knicks 2018 First
W. Hernangomez
J. Johnson
E. Davis
D. Dotson
P. Connaughton
D. Exum

Hornets get 4 expirings, a first rounder and Hernangomez to start their rebuild. They shed Batums contract in the Kemba blockbuster.

Knicks Acquire:
K. Walker
M. Harkless
M. Paige

Knicks add Kemba to form a nice trio alongside Porzingis and Hardaway Jr. Team becomes a playoff team that can make some noise in the East.

Jazz Acquire:
M. Batum
T. Graham
M. Carter-Williams
Knicks 2018 Second

Batum can play with Gobert and possibly revive himself into a piece that can help in a playoff run.

Trailblazers Acquire:
T. Sefolosha
C. Lee
K. O’Quinn

Lee and O’Quinn provides two pieces that can help fill holes with depth issues.
