Team-up East/West Draft ('99 forward) - Draft Thread

Post#1 » by ardee » Thu Jan 11, 2018 6:34 am

Draft Order:

1. Dantley4prez + Eurloeague
2. Damecurry + Blazers-1977
3. Wackbone + LA Bird
4. FadeawayJ + Tony Snell
5. KNguYear + Parsnips33
6. Ardee + Timmaytime
7. Dr Positivity + SuperDario
8. Laimbeer + Smash3

RULES:

1. Subject to the rules to be set out below, players from the 1998-99 season to the 2016-17 season will be available to be drafted. You can draft players that came into the league before 1999 but the season you choose can't be before 1998-99

2. You will be required to draft a total of 8 players. All will be required to play at least 8 minutes in your rotations.

3. Each team will be drafted by a pairing of 2 posters. The first poster will pick in odd-numbered rounds and the second in even-numbered rounds. The posters should ideally not communicate strategy about picking (this can't be enforced but I'm hoping everyone here will go along with it for the fun of the game).

4. The poster who picks first will only be able to pick players from the conference that the player he has selected is from. The poster that picks second will only be able to pick from the other conference.

5. Each player you select must have played at least 50% of regular season games in the season selected.

6. Since we only have 8 teams, the Playoff seeding will be randomized.

7. You must state the specific season of the player you choose to draft. You don't have to do it right away when you make your selection but you must state it on your team roster page before the playoffs/rankings begin.

8. Your team will be allowed a combined total of 90.0 FGA corresponding with the specific seasons indicated for each player.

9. Players will get a maximum of a 2-hour window to make their selection when they are on the clock. If you still have not chosen a player by then, you will be skipped. Also, if you know ahead of time that you won't be available to make your pick on the clock then please PM your selection to myself or another participant. NOTE: If you miss one pick and have failed to make it by the time your next pick comes around, you will be skipped.

10. The clock will be turned off between 12 midnight and 9 AM EDT.

11. First, the names of the posters will be randomized and paired up. Then, the draft order will be completely randomized again.

12. The draft will follow a ABBABABA format.

This seems like an easy choice, dont love starting with a super expensive C but hes clearly the 2nd best player available and the 5 spot is wayyy less crowded than in a 90s to now game so give me

As I'm sure nobody could have guessed, we'll take Kevin Durant.

Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Alonzo Mourning. There aren't too many 2 way centers in this one, may as well scoop one up.

Draymond Green. Obviously fits perfect with Steph and gives my partner some flexibility
