The expiring contract of Rose allowed the THJR signing. So it depends on whether or not you like THJR then it could either be considered real good or real bad

Also I'm not sure which 2nd round pick was used on Dotson and which one was used on Jaramaz. If the Bulls 2nd round pick that we got from Chicago was used on Dotson then that's another good pickup. If it was used on Jaramaz then it was a wasted pick.

For a team that's obviously rebuilding- Holiday at 2 years 9 million seems a lot better than whatever absurd contract they gave Hardaway- who's in witness protection.

Not trying to piss anyone off.... but it's EXTREMELY hard for me believe that this franchise just allowed Holliday to walk and used the same monies to sign Baker!

Well we got Holiday and Dotson for him. If we held onto Holiday and played Dotson more, the trade would look better.
Technically, we also got Hardaway and Noah too from the deal

I'd take it all back in a second just to prevent the Noah signing

I think we could have still signed Hardaway either way though

THJ got a starter's salary and he's looking like he has all-star potential. that deal about to be a bargain. a gamble at the time, but looks to be paying off. is witness protection your way of referring to an in-season injury?

justin holiday is what he is, a rotation guard. good defender, smart player, limited offense. 29 years old. why would it make sense to retain him long-term when we're working with a much younger timeline?

Hardaway is a league average SG who the Knicks overpaid for no reason. Overpaying for a position thats generally easily replaceable with cheaper options available is a poor way to rebuild. Hardaway is what he is- he's not a foundational piece.

As far as the injury goes- he's been out for how long now? What exactly is the injury again?

You do realize THJr. is better than Lavine, right?

At what?
Being older

Zach Per career 13.4 T/S 54.6
TIM Per career 13.5 T/S 54.7

That is not better. Zach did that in Thibs craptastic offense while Tim has played more uptempo.

I don't know man, if he hadn't been injured he'd be a borderline all star this year.

ESPN 30 for 30 presents the invisible man

What if I told you, a man that can’t shoot, can’t dribble, can’t rebound, and can’t pass - is starting for an NBA team.

Yeah this is how I felt about it as well. I've accepted it now, it is what it is. I'm trying to appreciate THJ even though we could and maybe should have taken a different route. Hopefully he can just continue to get better and elevate his game to the point where he's at least earning his deal. That's all we could ask for at this point.

he's earning that contract.

i was skeptical at the time of the deal too, but i get it now. he doesn't look like a half-season fluke at all. by year two that deal is a steal. you pay a lot more for tim's skill set and production.

I'd still like to see consistency out of him to be able to say he's earned his contract. Right now we've just gotten a small sample size from him during the brief part of the season that he has played in. In that time we've seen him play terrible, decent, good and great so the jury is still out on him.

good point. small sample size that has shown all of the tims.

but it was like a crescendo tho. terrible and decent were early and good and great were becoming commonplace until the injury.

but yes, small sample size. it was just encouraging to see that "gets it" timmy didn't seem to be a fluke left behind in atlanta.

well lauri will never have kp's ability to block shots simply because he doesn't have kp's insane length. but he does do a pretty good of defending kp one on one.

it was obvious to me that once there was a chance of making the playoffs they would continue towards that goal. then they could turn and say...look, we're doing a better job than the last guy. the knicks rarely get a guy who has the best interest of the franchise at heart. the new guys want to prove themselves and have job security. the last guy wanted to breathe life back into his dead offense. they'll be no sell off. kanter will still be here. lee too. willy is the most likely to be traded.

lauri getting better as the season goes on, kp getting worse

well lauri will never have kp's ability to block shots simply because he doesn't have kp's insane length. but he does do a pretty good of defending kp one on one.

Everybody other than Stanley Johnson has when KP insists on doing nothing but turnaround fades

Not trying to piss anyone off.... but it's EXTREMELY hard for me believe that this franchise just allowed Holliday to walk and used the same monies to sign Baker!

crazy that baker is young and fits the timeline?
RIP magnumt
