Burke's comeback is pretty similar to Hardaway's, good first year: 1st team all-rookie, ROY runner-up, struggled sophomore year, re-dedicated themselves, went to G-League, bounced back. Nothing that crazy about it.

I might even try a new coach.

Wish things could be easy like 1, 2, 3. But we live in the real world.

His first year wasn't that good. That was just a terrible crop of rookies, so he looked ok by default.

I just don't know why anyone would have to wait for this weekend unless we're trading for Mirotic... Just an odd situation. I'm guessing like you said we'll have more clarity after this G-League showcase. Is it possible that the hold up is on Trey's side. Looking for more of a guarantee/longer years/etc.

I say bring him here already. If anything his ex-teammate, who had a resurrection of his own, could show him the way. Then again, I was hopeful KP would keep Willy's head on straight. Hopefully this works out for us... if it ever happens.
Those last 70 seconds, Randle in a nut shell.

Awful 2 for 1 3PT attempt when we are up 2
Doesn’t close out on Sabonis --> open 3
Takes another side step off balance 3

We got sucked into the Randle vortex where all good feelings go to die.

Jack and Sessions holding this up. Probably trade our 3rd youngest player instead. Never change knicks, :banghead:

im pretty sure it’s the roster spot

If we wanna move someone like baker or sessions we have to wait, right?

I'm thinking the same thing but I also believe that shouldn't stop them from cutting Sessions RIGHT NOW which wouldn't stop this signing.

Yeah, he really brings nothing to the table. Even if there's a trade that opens a roster spot, Sessions should be cut (unless it involves Sessions).

might as well hang onto sessions until the deadline as potential salary match fodder then.

i think we should cut him for burke, but if there's a trade that opens up a spot, i'm not releasing sessions until i know i can't do anything with his sunk money.

It's a small deal so probably slim chance we would need it to match. Plus we have similiar valued contracts we could include. Just throw in Jack or Beasley.

The money may be the hold up though. It never looks good to cut a guaranteed deal you just signed a few months ago. We haven't done that much. Seems like we have resisted cutting useless players with guaranteed money so that might be something from Dolan.

Trade Jarrett Jack to Houston for a 2nd round pick. They need a backup PG

Demar Derozan/Gordon Hayward/Amir Coffey
Torrey Craig/Gary Harris/Cedi Osman

oh, i hear you. if we risk missing out on a player we like, it makes no sense to wait. sessions is an easy cut candidate. but also doesn't make sense to cut players before the trade deadline just because. it's not likely that you need $2.3m to make a trade work... but you might. and better to move a player you don't find useful than one who may have SOME value or use.

come trade deadline, they can all kick rocks really.

I don't imagine Sessions having any value though, not even a 2nd round pick type of value. Jack is hands down better and can contribute more

Who are we fooling? Neither have value lol.
Especially with every team in the league knowing our intentions. If Scott turns either, particularly Sessions, into an asset he needs an extension immediately.
