I thought it was a great movie. Liked it better than Episode 7. Right up there with Empire and Rogue One.

I agree with the OP, it was average to me. I think it took a lot of risks, which is good, but a lot of them failed badly.

Anyone here see The Room/Disaster Artist? Love both. The Room is up there with Troll 2 as worst movie ever to me.

I've seen The Room, although I wouldn't call myself a Roomie. Classic soundtrack.

Evil Alien Conquerors is a favorite 'bad' move of mine.

I haven't seen The Room but I saw The Disaster Artist. It was definitely interesting because it was all based on true events and people. I wouldn't say I loved it though.

In terms of bad movies, I seem to recall enjoying The Vidiot from UHF (a Weird Al Yankovic movie from the 80's) much more that I should have.

That sucks. I loved The Coup. I remember their 15 minutes of fame. I remember posting the "Dig It" video on here and telling truth18 that for some reason he always made me think of Boots Riley when I thought of him.

I haven't seen the new one yet but probably will. I don't see Star Wars movies as must see anymore. They have gone the way of James Bond movies in the Eighties. You will probably enjoy it but there won't be anything new.

Star Wars is one of my favorite movies of all time but the sequels and prequels have lost or undid much of what made it great. Some serious editing went into making the original such a great film but with Lucas' success came his ego and he undid the important changes others had made.

This does a great job of explaining how Star Wars was saved:
"Just because you like my stuff doesn't mean I owe you anything." - Bob Dylan

"All this talk about equality. The only thing people really have in common is that they are all going to die." - Bob Dylan

I was never into standup comedy before but I tried a couple -- Jo Koy (cos he's Filipino), Sarah Silverman (always adored her), and Patton Oswalt (Annihilation, on grieving). I just binged on the Dave Chappelle specials and loved them. Which Netflix comedy specials can you recommend?

I also tried Aziz Ansari but couldn't get through 15 mins although I dig Master of None.

Bill Burr. He's got a few good ones on Netflix. His podcast is great though, because he's a huge sports fan from Boston, so he gets into the Celtics once in awhile.

Jo Koy was in my city last month. I saw him years ago, and I kid you not - there were barely 100 people at the show. He was hilarious though. His Netflix special was huge for him because he managed to sell out 4 shows here. With that being said, I didn't attend the show because I didn't like his special. Seeing him live was great, but his special felt like he was just regurgitating his bits. I can only take so many jokes about Filipino moms. Lol.

The Smiths were a GREAT band. They have dozens of excellent songs, too many to mention. My favourite songs are mostly from the compilation album 'Louder than Bombs' ('How Soon is Now?,' 'Half a Person,' 'Ask,' 'Panic,' etc.). Morrissey was (and still is) a top-shelf lyricist, and the band's music was easy to listen to yet different than everything else at the time -- and so catchy.

Morrissey's solo career has been hit and miss, though. A couple of my favourite songs are 'The Last of the Famous International Playboys' and 'Reader Meets Author,' though the most famous are likely 'Suedehead,' 'Every Day is Like Sunday' and 'The More You Ignore Me, the Closer I Get'.

Couldn't agree more. Wish they had more time together, but as Marr said once on a interview, the band was run by themselves bc they were to self-righteous of themselves and then the fights began... The rest of the history we all know, unfortunately the band ended way too soon. As for Morrissey, just as you said, he is a terrific lyricist, one of the best I've ever seen in my life.

Man, if you've got an spotify account, do search for the John Peel Sessions songs on the Hatful Hollow album, they're just perfect, some of them I prefer than their original version.

All the Smiths albums are great. There's a live bootleg vinyl that came out a few years ago with a blue and black cover showing a vintage actress. The sound quality is great and well worth the purchase. Their re-release of The Queen Is Dead that came out a few months ago features a bonus CD of a live vintage set from the old Great Woods in Massachusetts. Some of their best songs to me were Jeane, A Rush And A Push And The Land Is Ours, Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others, Still Ill, and William It Was Really Nothing.

Morrissey has put out some good solo stuff but has also had some boring albums. The last two are unfortunately on the not so good cycle. The one with him holding the baby on the cover, which was about 3 albums ago, was probably his last standout album. I really like his compilations My Early Burglary Years and World Of Morrissey, the latter containing one of my favorite Morrissey songs, Boxers.

I HIGHLY recommend Johnny Marr's two recent solo albums. They are both top notch. His guitar melodies carried a lot of Smiths songs and they really drive his solo albums, too.

Still liked Three Billboards more, but this was #2

You know I can pretty much bank on any good movie review you give so when you just mentioned Three Bilboards, I realized I had not heard of that, and after just watching the Red Band, I am kicking myself right now for NOT having heard of this yet butt is officially on my radar now.

Btw, just landed in LAX and saw both Lamelo and Liangelo lol. Both looked as dumb as advertised. They told a fan they were shooting a scene for the YouTube Big Baller show or whatever it is at the airport.

I was initially wowed by the special effects. After time to reflect it really pains me to say, but it was just horrible. The plot makes no sense many times. In fact, the plot isn't even consistent with The Force Awakens. How many plot lines from TFA were totally dropped in the Last Jedi? It's like they aren't even writing a cohesive series of movies.

Where The Lord of the Rings was a 10, woven together like a beautiful tapestry, these new Star Wars movies are a 1 or 2. The plot is just non-sensical.
