Why would Fizdale agree to that? He's currently getting paid out his Grizzlies contract and he's also being paid by ESPN. There's a 0% chance he'd do that.

He'd get money for it, assuming he can get it on top of the Grizzles money and it's not one of those where they pay the difference type situations and if he did well he'd have the leg up for the job next year with a top 5 player. He'd have the inside track to what will be the best available job in the offseason and a chance to get a relationship with Giannis that could get him the job.

...or he could wait until the offseason and compete for multiple jobs - including this one - with a guaranteed contracts that span several years.

There's a reason why no one ever does what you're suggesting.

He could still do that but without having the inside track on this job which will be the best one available. Really the only risk is he does crappy and then is not able to do that, but if a guy thinks that way he probably never would have gotten this far. IMO the coach would have nothing to lose. It's the team that avoids doing this, not the coach. They don't know how bringing a fresh person mid year would mesh so they just go the easy transition route with the assistants. And then potentially have to bring in yet another coach/system again a few months later. Sure, that could be in the coach's mind too but you'd think they'd be confident in themselves and would jump on the chance.

This needed to be done, but lost in all this is the obvious dysfunction of the front office. The Bucks need a steady hand or two to right the ship.

I'd most be worried now that they go the big name splash route as their only options. People like Van Gundy and ex players with name recognition. Sure, maybe a guy like that is the best guy, just saying don't limit yourself to that pool only

He sucks, he had a few media quotes, but honestly.. just another coach.

Get someone who is actually good.... Tony Bennett.

We have a top 5 player and this is legitimately the happiest I've been as a Bucks fan in years.

He’ll get over it when he sees they stop losing due to other teams crushing them from the corners.

Unexpected good news. I honestly checked today's date when I saw the title of this thread, just to be sure.

Can't wait to see how the team responds tonight, hope to see them pull together as a group.

And I hope Marques doesn't hold back tonight!

No offense but **** Giannis' feelings. We needed a real Head coach in here to take this team to the next level. Wasn't Steph "devastated" when they fired Mark Jackson?

Player-speak.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

The consensus among die hard Grizz fans were Fiz wasn't the problem and didn't deserve to be canned. That's awfully telling since when a team is producing dissatisfying results most fans want to go after almost everybody who is associated with the losing.

Interested to see what Kidd has to say about Horst.
