Well no **** gambo. Its not like you would ever sit young guys who need the development time and every single vet is a non factor to winning or losing. So of course they won't be shutting guys down.

Since the moment that we traded Bledsoe and we didn't want to get an starting PG we are tanking. Plain and simple.

We are talking about McDonough here...so it wouldn't be crazy if we sit Booker or Warren to lose games. So good to hear from Gambo that we are not gonna make that this season.

Well even a step further the moment this summer that they realized Bledsoe wanted an extension that they did not plan on giving him and hence knew he wanted to be traded yet still only had Ulis and James as their PG's that was some self sabotage right there.

Well then there's the whole employing Earl Watson thing that is also self sabotage and malpractice to think he was an NBA coach.

C'mon, Earl Watson was a coach of a G League team. Well, not a head coach of a G League team, but an assistant. For 1 whole year.

If that doesn't seal the deal on who you should hire, then definitely having some players say "I like the guy" made it a slam dunk.

It would be crazy. I'm not a guy that is worried Booker will leave in 4 years, but if you start sitting him while healthy to lose games, I'd get a little concerned. Plus these guys need all the game experience they can get.

Nor should they be. Both guys have improved but still have a lot of work to do on their games and need the reps.

We didn't sit guys last year *just* to lose games. We sat those guys because they didn't matter. TJ and Booker don't fall within that category. The point isn't to win or lose per se, it's to win or lose with the players who matter.

100%... They sat Chandler to get a better look at Len and Williams who they had contract decisions to make on that summer. Plus it's debatable whether playing Chandler over those two actually contributes to winning.

Sitting Bledsoe can be looked at a few ways. I really do think some was to try to keep the mileage off his knees; but one really weird aspect of that was they played him heavy minutes in a 4 games in 5 nights right before the shut him down. I never understood that and I guess it was Earl being Earl. They also wanted to get a look at Ulis. But I would say there was an aspect of true tanking in it too.

Something for the Suns to remember. Most bad trades in the NBA were win now moves that did not win now or ever. See Danny Ainge and the Nets.

Will they sit Chandler so we can improve Monroe’s trade value and also get an extended look at Len before the off season?

If this is true I would go hard after Mitchell. I think he will be a top 5 player at his position very soon and is younger and will be better than Jackson imo.

I’d trade Jackson, Warren and 2018 Suns pick for Mitchell.

We aren’t gonna get lucky in the lottery and we will end up with a pick that’s in the #5-#10 range at best and Mitchell is a better NBA player than whoever we can get in that range of this coming draft will be.

Pair Mitchell with Booker and that’s the best under 25 duo in the NBA. We will still have Bender, Chriss and the Heat picks to our disposal as well to acquire or draft a starting PG.

"The goal is to win games"

"Can't see them making a significant move considering where they are in standings."

So let me get this straight, we are a horrible team (5th worst), but the goal is to win games.....and we expect that to happen by NOT making a significant trade?

It's called tanking without saying you are tanking. It's not that hard to figure out.

This is 100% the right move.

Tanking on purpose pisses off players, creates a toxic culture, and pisses off the league.

But...by refusing to upgrade the roster and forcing our young players to log extended minutes, we essentially ensure we tank while seeing who will shake out.

Monroe will be bought out after the deadline so he can join a contender...if he is not traded.

Doesn't the Rising Stars Challenge feature Rookies vs. Sophomores (USA vs World)?

If thats the case then eligible Suns would be Chriss, Bender, Ulis, Sauce, Josh Jackson (did I miss anybody)? Thats depressing as this is the core group that we hope develops around Booker over the next few years. I know Bender was hurt last year, Chriss came in this year out of shape, Sauce is hurt, Ulis isnt very good and Jackson shows occasionally flashes but is inconsistent.

Devin Booker was selected to play in the Rising Stars game as both a rookie and sophomore in 2016 and 2017. I'm hopeful for our young players to devlop, but I really don't expect much.

If Triano can retain support after losing 5 of 6 by 87 points he's the right coach similar to how Philadelphia knew Brett Brown was despite results.
