For some medical reason John Stockton had a resting heart rate in the mid 30s, which is insane.

He also had 16 seasons with full 82 GP which isn't related to this thread (I guess? :D) but it's insane as well.

Ronny Turiaf has a heart condition that was discovered by the Lakers. The Lakers paid his salary. And he healed for long while. Eventually Turiaf got it under control. In part due to his great attitude. And was finally able to play his first NBA game!

Is it? I had mine measured in mid 40s a lot, with the lowest being 42, during physicals. The doctor said my heart was enlarged and called it "bradycardia" (also referred to as "athletic heart syndrome") and more or less said "you workout a lot right? It's probably from that", and that it didn't represent a problem. Makes me think it is not that rare but only shows up when people condition themselves extensively. I'm guessing his heart rate is no longer so strange unless he kept conditioning himself after retirement. Wikipedia said it is commonly seen in sports medicine.

Is it?

Yeah. The world record is around 27, and low 30s in general are a statistical blip. Even the 40s are pretty rare, most instances of benign bradycardia have heartrates around 50.

Early on in his career James Harden really struggled with asthma. He developed his "old man" play style as a result of asthma and endurance problems.

Nance was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease when he was 16 years old. However, for several years before he received an official diagnosis, he suffered from symptoms of the disease – painful cramping, weight loss, fatigue, and stunted growth - with fatigue being the most debilitating. The extreme tiredness, a common symptom experienced by patients living with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, impacted his life majorly.

“I didn’t deal with [the fatigue] well. I laid around the house all day, I had no energy [to do anything],” he said. “I slept in class and I wasn’t that kind of kid… I didn’t have the energy to practice or play [any sports].”

After several years exhibiting symptoms, his parents realized that something was seriously wrong and took him to see the doctor. After performing a few diagnostic tests, Nance was diagnosed with Crohn’s.

He'd probably have gone to a much bigger college program than Wyoming if he was diagnosed earlier.
Omer Asik missed a lot of time and lost a lot of weight due to Crohn’s. Poor guy probably lost about 40 pounds

Didn't know it was crohns when I noticed the weight loss. Sucks especially in the middle of an NBA career.

It was amazing that he lasted that long in the NBA with T1 Diabetes. I just read the "life as an NBA bust" article about him and how he took care of his money and is set for life.

Willie Cauley-Stein has the sickle cell trait which has affected his breathing and caused chest pain in the past.

Didn't Sean Elliot have a kidney transplant due to kidney disease when he was on the Spurs? Not that rare but Jeff Green had a heart problem that caused him to get a heart surgery when he was on the Celtics. In fact a lot of players in the NBA surprisingly suffer from heart problems.

Chris Bosh is a recent one that comes to mind, I don't know if it's rare, but it effectively ended his career.

Randy Foye was born with a condition called situs inversus that caused him to be born with his organs reversed -- meaning his heart is on the right side of his body and his liver is on the left

Only one out of every 10,000 people have situs inversus, according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine, and the condition is not life-threatening. Foye said it doesn't affect his play, but he has an increased likelihood of bronchitis and respiratory infections.

he's believed to be the only player in major American sports to have the condition.

Yes, he had three different medical conditions to overcome. He would certainly be higher up the RealGM top 100 list were it not for his medical issues.
