Seems like ol' Thomas got drunk on his own green Kool-Aid last year (eww) and forgot he was just a 6th man type in SAC and PHX.

Okc now needs to take a look at Baze...he can step in for Roberson nicely IMO.

Unfortunately we aren't good trade partners, OKC would have to send us 3 or 4 players to make up Baze's salary.

If he was healthy, D Bembry seems like he could have been a decent trade target for them. He's not quite the defender that Roberson is, but he's solid all around and not nearly as offensively inept.

And with all the draft picks we're getting over the next 18 months, Bembry might not have a future here.

I was against drafting Bembry initially. After watching him play he provides a lot of defense and he understands angles in passing and cutting which is huge. Unfortunately all these injuries are slowing his progress. It sure his timeline would fit OKC as far as experience is concerned but I could see him stepping in as a defensive guy like Roberson for them because let's face it, Roberson's outside shot has to be a bottom 5 shot in the league....that thing is ugly. Lol.

With Avery Bradley available via trade, seems he's the ideal fit for OKC or the Cadavers.

He's actually a perfect fit.

I've thought he was the ideal backcourt mate for Russ for a while now. Low usage, 3 & D standout who can also run point occasionally.

Russ, Bradley, P George would make an awesome trio.

I was shocked when I first heard it but PG for DPOY isn't a crazy notion.

YES! Oh God please make this happen. I just got a warm fuzzy feeling of Curry struggling like the Aflac duck and getting his feathers all ruffled from Bradley's D in the finals....oh please oh please. And yes ..Avery Bradley gives Curry fits on D.

Incredible that Baze is not on this list, he's not even on the also rans list. This time last year he would have been top 5.

Teams looking to make a splash should contact the Hawks. As ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski previously reported, Kent Bazemore, Ersan Ilyasova, and Belinelli are on the block. Big man Mike Muscala has also generated light interest. Another name that could also be moved? Dennis Schröder.
Though Schröder is only 24, he’s not part of the Hawks’ long-term equation with his inconsistent, inefficient performance. However, any move involving Schröder is more likely to happen in the summer. As it stands, teams in need of a point guard may prefer to hold onto cap space for someone like Isaiah Thomas or Elfrid Payton or hope they can land Collin Sexton or Trae Young in the draft. But if they strike out, there will be more suitors in July than there are now. The Hawks are trying to reload for the next decade, and general manager Travis Schlenk will continue to reshape the roster to add fuel to their tank. The big question is whether coach Mike Budenholzer will want to stick around for a rebuild, especially after losing his front-office powers.

NOTE: I'm still searching for a second source to corroborate the speculation that Budenholzer's contract is up this summer...

David Aldridge wrote:trade ideas that make sense as 2018 deadline approaches

Los Angeles Lakers trade F Julius Randle, C Ivica Zubac to Atlanta Hawks for F Ersan Ilyasova

Straight Cash (Dump), Homie, as L.A. has to get Randle off the 2018-19 books to pursue its two max free-agent dreams next summer, and will trade young for old and potential for an expiring contract like Ilyasova’s. (Also, Ilyasova hasn’t played bad at all as a starter in Atlanta.)

Meanwhile, the Hawks are in talent acquisition mode, and thus would have no issue either taking on the final year of Randle’s rookie deal ($5.5 million) in ’18-’19.

Another day, another Budz-Gone "rumor" from @jamamamamaliver. Shocking.

On another note, somebody spell out the ramifications of us eating Noah's deal if'n they send us some pix for the trouble. What? Y'all expecting Lebron 'n PG13 to come here as free agents?

Hey, just something to think about.

Not a huge deal. And it's nothing concrete. But it isn't as crazy as it once sounded.

Again, I'm not advocating it. Or even predicting it. (Yet.)

But the fact this has been tossed around for months by more connected NBA writers leads me to wonder.

And the fact that we haven't heard anything yet regarding extension talks....well.

Unrelated NOTE: Muscala is getting light interest around the league. Good for him. I suspect we'll see him opt out this summer in hopes of getting a longer term deal from a team.

No one believes you don't believe he'll be gone.

And it hasn't been tossed around by anyone. People who don't care enough to look into our situation throw the assumption out without any corroboration, proof or even "source" quotes to support or suggest it. Therefore, we need to be wise enough to ignore it.

If anything happens, it'll be coincidence and in no way confirmation of that innuendo you posted or anything else anyone is reporting.

So if something happens...you're right?

And if nothing happens...you're right?

Because you don't believe in it?

Wow.

Fake news.
Alternative facts.

Makes sense.

Well I don't want Bud gone but he's like the one coach in the league where no one knows his contract situation. It's weird. If it's up this summer Bud maybe deciding between Hawks and Giannis and the Bucks.
