The Pelicans supposedly want an expiring deal for Asik. Carroll doesn't fit that bill. In hindsight, Booker would have.

I think it was decent, but not great. But I did think Griffin might be moved and the on paper value wasn't going to be huge. Hence my earlier itt proposal of RHJ and Mozgod.
For Detroit, idk. I mean I think they got great value for the outgoing, Griffin is a beast, but how do they build anything around him? But, unless they were going to straight blow it up, this is exactly the move they needed to pull off.
Unless you find someone to trade for Drummond I have no clue what they are doing

I don't love Drummond, but he's definitely a good young player and a fit next to Griffin.
The real problem is, how can they keep both those guys while acquiring a star level wing or point guard?
It seems like a tall order given their extremely limited remaining assets and a few bad contracts of undesirables like Reggie Jackson.
I still can't believe they took Kennard over Mitchell. We'd be talking about an actual contender next season if they had him. Maybe they can flip Kennard with Johnson and/or Reggie Jackson by this summer in a surprise move for someone. Or something like my thought of Jackson and filler for Conley this summer and move Kennard and filler for a guy like Otto Porter?

I don't know how much you can showcase D/F-tier talent.JiggaMan06 wrote:I can see we are trying to showcase Acy and Zeller as much as possible to shop them for some younger talent. For the Big contracts (Mosgov, Carroll, and Crabbe) I only see Carroll being moved because no one wants Mosgov contract. I really want to get a lottery pick in this draft to grab one of those Hyper PF's. Webb is a good replacement for the Trevor Booker energy role.

I know we have a lot of centers, and Okafor is a very similar player (but much inferior version). Monroe has played PF in the NBA though, and maybe he makes sense as a rotation PF for us?
Idk if Booker is a good example. He's playing really well for the Sixers, just averaging less minutes than he was for us. Booker improved as a player here in Brooklyn, and while he's not starter material, he's an excellent big off the bench.NyCeEvO wrote:I don't know how much you can showcase D/F-tier talent.JiggaMan06 wrote:I can see we are trying to showcase Acy and Zeller as much as possible to shop them for some younger talent. Teams know that players who come to the Nets will get to play for a team that operates differently from just about every other team in the league. I have a feeling Acy and Zeller would go pretty close back to the way they were before they came to the Nets, and that's mainly because other ball clubs aren't going to devote time to them on the court like we do.
Booker is actually a good example. He went from being a notable figure here to bench fodder for Philly. Teams aren't going to value our players in the same ways that we do.

Idk if Boston makes much sense, they have a big man rotation of Horford/Morris/Baynes. Doesn't Monroe have to clear waivers first anyway?TheNetsFan wrote:DarkXaero wrote:Greg Monroe getting bought out by the Suns, should we be in?

He'll be Boston bound. They want to trade for Evans too. The domino effect of trades/cuts will be of more interest to us.

We can waive Zeller, take Acy out of the rotation, and there are minutes for Monroe without taking away Allen or Okafor's minutes.MrDollarBills wrote:DarkXaero wrote:Greg Monroe getting bought out by the Suns, should we be in?

No, we should not. we need to develop Allen and Okafor.

To be a more competitive team, and bring in another veteran who our young players can benefit from? Maybe even have Monroe improve as a player with our coaching staff. I already said that Monroe can be played as a PF, and iirc, that's how he was used in Milwaukee off the bench. He doesn't have to necessarily interfere with Allen or OKafor's playing time. Guys like Acy and Zeller are getting playing time for us, and Monroe is easily better than both of them by far. He can take their minutes. What's wrong with being more competitive when you don't have your own pick? It's not like the move is going to take our future cap space.MrDollarBills wrote:DarkXaero wrote:We can waive Zeller, take Acy out of the rotation, and there are minutes for Monroe without taking away Allen or Okafor's minutes.MrDollarBills wrote:

what is your reasoning for bringing him in here? we are not a playoff team. we have a 19 year old and a 21 year old center rotation that is showing promise. why do you want to do this?
