Re: Future Draft Games
So you have to draft all of your players from one of the franchises in the list?
And if I select Washington I could use Chicago MJ?

I thought of this idea as well but I wasn't sure how well it would go over. You would also have to do something about the minutes such as making your rotations have to match their seasons MPG. +/- a minute for flexibility perhaps.

That's correct that you can only draft players from one of the franchises in the list.
And no you can't select Chicago MJ, it would have to be Washington MJ.
Just looked at the games thread it hasn't been done, it would be similar to the sweet sixteen draft (the most common sixteen franchises that were chosen). In this case, it would be the opposite and hopefully shake up the players pool a little with players who don't normally get selected from these teams.

You could do that, but I was under the impression that it had to be one of the seasons from those franchises. Not sure how the player pool would look though with seasons from certain franchises only so maybe go your route instead. Add a possible MVP twist like the sweet sixteen franchise.

A tanking team sounds like a really silly idea honestly.

There were a bunch of games around that time where the premise was linked to franchises. I can't recall which one my idea was in response to - I initially thought it might be this one:

Yea, and it's an actually applicable skill - such as the dream team losing to the college team. Good coaches should know how to exploit bad chemistry, for tanking/practice purposes
I think we could change it to 'worst starting 5', and use 70 FGA to avoid bench issues
Also require at least 2 all NBA

Actually, looking at the link you posted for the Sweet 16 draft, it says you can pick any season of the player.
I remember now what my thought process was. In the Sweet 16 draft, guys like Reggie, Stockton, Hakeem, and a few others were completely eliminated because they didn't play for any of the more common franchises. That's why I proposed to use the remaining 14. So it would indeed be another version of that draft with franchises randomly assigned to each pick.

OK good. That means we can remove the random element which would have made me slightly uneasy with a restricted player pool.

So, would it be all of the second group or just the 11 not used at all? And must the season be with that team or could you do a Chicago MJ via Washington?

That would be up to the person running it. I would probably go with the 11 not used at all and no Chicago MJ via Washington, but I'll have to take a closer look at the pool to determine that as well as adding any restrictions if need be (one MVP, etc).

That could be pretty interesting. Seems like it eliminates many of the really elite players, and that's not bad for a change of pace.

I'm thinking we all just draft eight players using only seasons from those specific franchises, rather than having to stick to one specific franchise. That would eliminate the need for an MVP restriction. I don't know if we'd use the 14 or the 11 (I lean towards the former).

Re: Future Draft Games
Any thoughts on a pre-merger game? Quot brought it up at one time. My guess is it would be limited in interest (maybe an 8 or 10 teamer). It also might be a good one to ask someone from the PC forum to serve as guest ranker.

Re: Future Draft Games
What about a game where drafters were assigned franchises in which you have to select a player drafted by that team. Rounds 2-8 won't have teams assigned until the preceding round is finished. So after round 1 is over, new franchises are randomly assigned to drafters. This could create good chaos as no one could really plan ahead and it could be fun. I'm not sure which years to use. Maybe 1960-2017?
