Should the Hawks be interested? Is our 2018 2nd too high?
Or how about the 2019 2nd from MIN/LAL.

I don’t know but I heard from Brent Barry on 2k that he’s Willy Willy good :P ...maybe we should take a flyer!

Jk all jokes aside (I’ll be here all week btw) I think Hernangomez is an excellent player. I would definitely trade a 2nd rounder for him if that’s the direction Bud wants to go. Him and his brother in Denver remind me of a lighter version of the Gasol’s...ala light mayo or salad dressing...

I also think that anyone on the Knicks is better on a different team. So Willy’s value might be a 1st rounder in reality but the Knicks are so dysfunctional you can’t tell what a player can and can’t do.

1st, and most importantly, I gave you that 'and1' because of the 2k joke. :)

2nd, I agree WHG is the type of prospect we should be looking to acquire. Unfortunately, it's likely the Knicks will be looking to attach that awful gangrene (hm, spelled that right on the 1st try?) known as Joakim Noah syndrome to a deal. Totally not worth it, if so.

Once they come to their senses and realize no one's gonna take that albatross, I'm sure they'll settle on a decent 2nd.

On a semi-related note, cute how the 1st Hawk-related WHG trade on the trade board has us taking Noah back. SMDH

Unfortunately Hernangomez's value is low so it'snot enough to entice a team to take on Noah.
Hawks do that it kills our off season capspace.

Willy Hernangomez (Knicks) requested a trade. Former pick #35. 23 years old.

Should the Hawks be interested? Is our 2018 2nd too high?

1. Yes, we should be interested.
2. Yes, our 2nd rounder (pick #31) is probably a bit too high.
3. I'd still trade it for him with the specific goal of rehabbing his value for future use in trade.

With us currently having 3 first rounders, using that pick for an older, slightly more proven prospect (such as WHG) seems like a decent use of the asset.

NOTE: NYK will likely strong arm us and attempt to grab that HOU instead.

How exactly?

Or did you mean they'd attempt to strong arm us? I'd expect them to try.

:blank:

They'll keep shopping WHG or hold tight until draft day if they don't get offered a 1st rounder for him this week.

It's what I'd do. Even if I knew that the #31 pick was a perfectly reasonable return for the kid.

Yep, I agree totally. I don't think we'd cave though. Dude ain't that good otherwise he'd be playing.

Unless, they play him, his value will and should remain on the low end. If he can't beat out KOQ and Noah?

There's just too many players being offered up around the league. If we manage to move any of the vets I don't expect we'll get much of anything in return other than maybe some future 2nds. Hopefully we can get a young prospect for development maybe.

Baze is starting to look like he maybe one of the better options available.

consensus I KEEP hearing is that Ilyasova is the most likely Hawk to be moved this week:

The Most Tradable Player on Every NBA Team

Atlanta Hawks: Ersan Ilyasova, PF

Atlanta Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk is hoping his first trade deadline at the helm will be busy. Still in the early stages of a rebuild, the Hawks are reportedly shopping Kent Bazemore, Ersan Ilyasova and Marco Belinelli in search of picks and/or prospects, according to ESPN.com's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Ilyasova seems the most likely to need a change-of-address form. Bazemore could collect more than $37 million over the next two seasons (2019-20 is a player option) despite performing like he's worth about half of that (15.1 player efficiency rating). Ilyasova and Belinelli are both on expiring deals, with the former being younger, cheaper and more productive over his career.

Ilyasova doesn't have the deepest skill set, but he's a 6'10" floor-spacer who occasionally pops off in the scoring or rebounding categories. He's also had an above-average PER in four different campaigns, while Belinelli has only reached the mark once in 11 seasons.

If the Hawks have their way, they'll turn each of their expiring vets into some kind of rebuilding tool. But if there's only one move they make, Ilyasova is the likeliest to go. Modern trade markets will always have interest in lanky, reasonably priced snipers.

Warriors fan here. Serious question...Would you guys be open to trading Belinelli and Dedmon? Something like Zaza+Nick Young(both are expiring contracts)+Mccaw+Looney+Damian Jones....not sure if that would be something Schlenk would be interested in. If you guys don’t like that I understand.

When I first started reading I thought it was just some random speculation but I actually think it's dead on. Marco and Ersan will probably get bought out. Dennis not being that coveted makes perfect sense. He'd be great as a backup PG on a contender but that's a lot to pay.
Baze is probably the most valuable to teams like NO or Detroit or maybe even the Cavs but everyone knows his ceiling as well as we do and no one wants that financial commitment.

Send the Warriors 1st instead and drop some of the other junk.
Hawks can't take back that many players.

I’d probably do that. Not sure if the Warriors front office would. Thanks for the input :D

Ditto this. Would love to get Zaza back, that dude belongs in a Hawks uni and should retire a hawk. Already got that ring, come on home Big Fo'Head.
Minor interest in Looney and/or McCaw, but would need a pick to make it all happen imho.

Trade deadline is on Thursday, a few hours before we play the Magic in a must-lose game. I wouldn't expect Dedmon or Ersan to be in the rotation for that game.

We may see a starting lineup of Taylor/Dorsey/Prince/Collins/Plumlee for that one.
