The fact of the matter is, this team should be working, and the God awful rotations do not help. Billy Dumbo hasn't even once tried to start 2 Pat and Slide Melo to the 3. Hell, he hasn't even figured out how to stagger the starters minutes.

Then there are others like me who would rather have a player on the court who has to be respected by opposing teams, as he'll light teams up who leave him open from the 3 point line, can drive to the basket, generate offense, and actually make plays.
i would love to have a player like that. that player isn't carmelo anthony this season.

Melo has a respectable current season average of 17 PPG. Although his PER is not up there with George or Westbrook, he is still a contributor to the team.
Remember that game against Sacramento, Melo put up 24.

What's the counter argument, could Patrick Patterson or Nick Collison put up 24 tomorrow night against Dallas?

This chart means nothing. If Defensive Points Saved was a game changing stat, the Thunder's record would be much better than what it currently is.
By simply checking nba.com or espn.com statistics, the top four leading scorers for the Thunder are 1) Westbrook 2) George 3) **Anthony** 4) Adams
But hey, let's replace Anthony with Patrick Patterson or Nick Collison for their defensive presence.

of the 50 players averaging an impressive 17 points per game this year, carmelo anthony is the least efficient scorer (50.9% ts).
you could probably distribute his shot attempts randomly on the team and get more value.
sometimes a player's value lies in the shots they do not take. obviously, melo has never heard of this concept.

Re: 2017-2018 OKC Thunder Regular Season Thread part one: The Fellowship for A Ring
How long have you been a Thunder a fan? If you've been a fan since when they came to OKC, 17 PPG is absolutely impressive for this team that's been dominated by Westbrook-Harden-Durant. The only other players that have averaged anything close were Oladipo and maybe K-Mart.
So again, I'm not bashing Melo as I've seen over the years how little other players not named Durant or Westbrook have contributed offensively.
Until the Thunder win the chip, your arguments are pretty much equal to mine.

Forgot about Jackson, I wasn't a fan, but the man had skills.

The switch is about to flip, guys. This is when Westbrook becomes Beastbrook. Last 20 games we are about to see the Thunder's best basketball. Buckle up, boys. We're in for one hell of a ride. Currently: GSW #2 seed. OKC #7 seed.

"I don't know of any player that, when the shot goes up, he doesn't want it to go in," Donovan said

Are you being serious? If so, I think you’re forgetting how much Andre meant to this team’s success.

When Melo is playing well, use him.
When he isn’t, limit his PT.
Seems simple enough.
