Needs to learn how to play defense. He wouldn’t be my first pick.

You can teach defense.

It's harder to teach offense...

Yeah we've clearly seen its easy to teach defense. They're saying great since Dre went down. Learned defense really well.

At the moment duke has had to switch to a zone defense to hide him so he’s not off to a great start.

I want somebody who is able to make shots and hit FTs. No more of this 'We'll teach them offense' nonsense.

Hypothetically if we end up with pick 14 I'm very into Lonnie Walker. Low key I think he'll end up as a better player than Mikal. Lonnie will be 19 by the time he plays his first NBA game. Bridges will be 22. Lonnie already does a better job on drives and exploding through contact. He's already got a strength advantage over Bridges. I like them both but I think Bridges' ceiling is a slightly more athletic Khris Middleton who likes to grind post possessions and shoot fadeaways whereas Walker is more like your classic explosive 2 guard that can be a secondary initiator AND defend at a high level. Mikal will be more suited to guard 3s given his height advantage but I think Walker will eventually be able to check 1-3 quite nicely.

God help this team.

From what I read he sounds like the perfect glue guy.

I love Mikal Bridges game. He is the quintessential 3&D guard in the draft. Some teams may pass on him because they may opt for a higher superstar potential player. He is also not a freshman. However, he would be perfect for this team. If there comes a time when the FO decides to move on from Dre, he would be a phenomenal replacement.

They also were watching Michigan state a few days ago. Jaren Jackson is probably one of my favorite players in the draft. Great modern PF. Miles bridges would be great as well.

Interesting that not only do we not retain our pick if we make the playoffs, but these guys are higher lottery regardless. They would be out of range of the 14th pick anyway. Do they think they can move up if they keep the pick? What do they do if they make the playoffs?

The off-season will be much more interesting than the season.

Some players may fall lower than expected. Most of us are just hoping we get lucky with ping pong balls.

He's gonna trade Adams for monetary reasons and then sign Noah after he gets bought out by the Knicks. That's how he'll get a pick.

If we are getting all of Billy’s former players, I’ll take beal.

I don't know. I'm still traumatized from the last time we were in the lottery and Devin booker went one pick before us. I'm convinced this team is cursed in the draft until something good happens.

Even with our misses we’ve had more success than many other teams. At this point I just want something exciting to follow for this team.

They will make the playoffs. The excitement likely comes from tax payer MLE and upgrades via trade this summer. I actually still believe PG re-signs.

Although I completely am crazy about the NBA draft

I think it’s far from a guarantee they make the playoffs. With the exception of when western playoff teams are playing each other, the other playoff teams are winning. Utah is going to catch someone, most likely Denver. The real key is is Denver can catch OKC.

Just to provide some data: Since Roberson went down, we're 2-9 vs non-tanking teams. Over the next 4, we play 3 tanking teams (Suns and Kings at home, Hawks in Atlanta) and the Spurs at home. Then we follow that up with 11 straight games vs. +.500 teams. So far, we haven't shown any real improvement since Roberson went down - losing to good teams, barely getting by against bad teams.

Would going 3/4 vs tanking teams and 5/12 vs non-tanking teams be this unimaginable? That would put us at 45 wins on the season. 538 has Nuggets at 45, Jazz at 45 and Clippers at 44. Basketball Reference has all of those 4 at 44 games.
We can only tie the season series against the Nuggets with our last game against them. Against the Jazz, we own the tie breaker. Against the Clippers as well.

One other thing to consider: If we make the Playoffs at either 7 or 8, I'm not confident we win a game. Barely getting by against the very bad teams and constantly losing to the good ones does not point towards being actually good.

Thoughts on Justin Jackson Jr?

Denver is trying to drop out of the playoffs harder then OKC. Lost to Denver and now losing to Cleveland.

I saw Jackson listed with a 7'3 wingspan. I'm not familiar enough to say much, but it looks like he'll be a 2nd round pick so I could see Presti chasing the length. Looks like a potential 3&D prospect, but since ESPN bought Draft Express it looks like both sites draft coverage went to garbage so I'm going to have to start looking for some other places for prospect info since I cut off my TV and haven't watched any college ball this year.

I meant Jaren Jackson from Michigan state.

I think he could be the type of player they wanted Sabonis to be as a stretch 4/5. They could possibly take him 3rd if they got lucky and landed that pick.

Colin Sexton is a guy I really like. He needs to improve his shooting. I don’t see him as a top three pick or falling late enough to snag him around 14.
