Reminds me of Caris LeVert with a little Paul Pierce mixed in. Even Paul George minus the freak athleticism.

Yep Caris LeVert is the best comp for him imo.

I love Troy Brown. He's been one of my most intriguing college players this year. Very good all around prospect. Might never be a master at anything, but a jack of all trades, very similar to Caris LeVert in that sense

LeVert is more quicker and athletic than Brown even with post-injuries. However, I do see where the LeVert comparisons. Their playstyles are somewhat similar. LeVert also isn't set in stone. He's been steadily improving, and I think his ceiling is higher.

Below average athleticism and can't shoot from outside, two of the most important traits for a role player wing.

I like Troy, I have him at 11 currently.

He is so slow and deliberate with his play. He is mega oversized at 6'11" span, 6'6" shoes for a combo guard. I like his basketball IQ on defense even though he is not an plus athlete. The fact is that you don't need to be elite to be elite on defense.

One of the can't miss prospects I've identified. He's definitely an NBA player, has upside and will fill a role on any team. Offense, Defense, feel for the game, IQ. Troy Brown have it all.

Soured on him some. Concerned he isn't assertive enough. His potential value is as a playmaking wing and too often he steps back and lets the game pass him by. He's not a bad defender, but don't really see high end potential on that end, and combining that with his iffy shot I'm not sure how he makes an impact unless he lands in the perfect situation that continues to let him grow as a playmaker (honestly I can't really think of where could work).

To me Troy Brown screams someone that gets overlooked in the draft and ends up being really good, like Dejounte Murray. I wouldn’t be surprised if he falls to the end of the first round and becomes great in a great situation. He’s really Kawhi-like in terms of how Kawhi flew under the radar. Basically he’s going to end up on the Spurs or Warriors.

I'm in the middle on Brown. He immediately caught my eye because I loved his combination of good size/length, versatile skill-set and great feel/IQ. But I do think he's a sub-par athlete in many respects, and he has a 3 ball that he really needs to improve.

I think he'll be a solid role player in time. I see Kyle Anderson with less size but more scoring upside. For that reason I have him just outside the lottery at this point - I have Gafford, J.Porter, Sexton, R.Williams, etc. all above him.

At least for me I was talking stylistically, because as you, I believe Caris is far from his ceiling.

Troy Brown is decent at a lot of things, but not really elite at anything. He rebounds well for a guard, passes well for a wing, defends adequately. I actually don't think his athleticism is as bad as people are saying. I think athletically he's comparable to Harrison Barnes or Allan Houston from back in the day. In other words, he's a good-enough athlete. However, his game is really going to be opened up by his shooting and ability to create looks. He's going to need to be cerebral, crafty and use his feel for the game. That's where he may be lacking. I don't think he projects as a knock-down shooter, but could be a guy who initiates from the wing position. If he's not good enough at it though, he won't play. It would be helpful to see him get more reps at the PG spot.

I don't think Levert is more athletic than Brown, but he's a much more reliable shooter. The guy in this draft who reminds me a bit of Caris Levert is actually Kris Wilkes at UCLA.

They’re in the same tier for me. Brown just disappears in games though. At least Smith keeps up with the defensive intensity.

Think he could someday (soonish) be a better option than Evan Turner? Seems the most similar player if Blazers looking for a replacement, though I'm interested in Bonga as well for that role.

I feel like Troy Brown's best-case scenario is a player like Tyreke Evans unless he becomes a better shooter. But that said, he's not as shifty with the ball as Tyreke.
