I haven't read most of this thread but I'll give my two cents as a pitcher in HS and college.
If I throw a pitch and it does exactly what I wanted but it gets hit a mile...kudos to the hitter. I made my pitch, he hit it. I'm not calling it a bad pitch.
If I want to throw one low and away but leave it over the middle and the batter misses it or hits a laze fly-ball, I'm pissed at myself. That's a bad pitch.
Pitchers don't get upset when they hit their spots and the balls gets nailed. Sometimes the hitters just do well. It happens. Where we get mad is when the command isn't there.

I understand this all. I guess we are going from different perspectives, I was the veteran catcher when I played and always had to keep the pitching staff in a positive mode. As a pitcher, yes, it is a "bad pitch" if you miss your spot, I was speaking about it from a perspective of the fan/fielder that is going to speak in terms of the outcome. I would be almost as mad as the pitcher would be about a missed spot but I have the mentality of call it a good pitch because somehow you got a strike, no matter how it happened...and then move on to the next pitch.
Anyways, you were probably right for the most part, we shouldn't fight though...if we kept this up you could call us Cub fans.

Eternal pessimism...
Edit: I understand it's been a bad team for a long time and understand the need to protect yourself but I hope people can have a lot of fun with this season like the team deserves, and hold off on acting like Cub or pre-2004 Sox fans or whoever.

Crap, had to work and missed this one, sounded like a fun one.
I'll be in attendance tomorrow, look for me in Section 234. I'll be the one in the Brewers jersey

It's being replayed from 2 to 5 this morning. Don't know if you want to stay up that late though.
