Just a note, but on the Russ thing, Phoenix doesn't have a ton I'd want I don't think. The only young guys who look good are Booker and Jackson and neither are going anywhere.

Maybe if the Suns pick is 3rd post-lottery...
Tyson Chandler, Brandon Knight, Dragan Bender and 3rd Overall Draft Pick for Russell Westbrook?
That’s an expiring contract, young prospect and top 3 pick (oh yeah and Knight)

I don't think Bender is anything, so to me it's a ton of bad salary and the 3rd pick. I'd pass pretty fast.

Phoenix would have to include Miami and Milwaukee picks along with their own. The Milwaukee pick probably doesn't convey until 2020. Probably throw in Miami's 2021 first. That with Bender and Chriss would get me interested.

Suns could add TJ Warren to the deal as who is basically a one trick pony but a very efficient scorer. OKC could flip him whenever for additional assets as well if they want.
It’d be something crazy like 2018 Suns 1st, 2018 Heat 1st, 2019 Bucks 1st, 2021 Heat 1st, Knight, Warren, Bender and Chriss for Westbrook.
Reminds me of the Herschel Walker trade.
All that said, I don’t think OKC will ever trade Russel Westbrook. He’s become as enriched within the franchise as Kobe has with the Lakers imo. Of course Kobe had the rings which earned him that while Westbrook has the loyalty (resigning with Thunder while other star players left) earning him that.
Only way Russ ever leaves imo is if he leaves himself, organization won’t ever do it, it’s just way too much bad PR.

The fact that the organization probably won’t trade russ is the reason I hope the nba doesn’t make any adjustments to the one and done rule. It makes it more likely to find good players later in the draft.

i don't think we'd get a haul for westbrook. but if george leaves, i'd advocate trading him for whatever they can get and rebuild. there's no point carrying that salary around a 30+ year old when you're not contending.

Kyrie and the Memphis pick would be interesting if Kyrie wasn't going to be gone after a year.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.
