We're all starved for something authentic. Music, restaurants, architecture, stadiums, movies are just the same thing done over and over again. How many new breweries are there everyday saying 'wait till you taste our IPA'. I don't think this is just old man talk. There are a lot of great tv series that are really creative. Public art is on an upswing. Hopefully there is a backlash against the downturn in other areas.

This is truly horrifying. What's happened to that country in the last decade is just terrible.

But this is legitimately the worst thing I've heard in....days?

Three Mexican film students who went missing in March in Guadalajara, in the state of Jalisco, were kidnapped, tortured and killed, and their bodies were dissolved in acid, authorities said Monday.

State prosecutors said criminals had confused them with members of a rival gang.

The grim news led to outrage and strong sentiments on social media from ordinary Mexicans as well as from Academy Award winning director Guillermo del Toro, who is a native of Guadalajara.

“Words can’t explain the dimension of this madness. 3 students are killed and dissolved in acid. The 'why' is unthinkable, the 'how' is terrifying,” he tweeted.

Wonder of wonders, Infinity War actually succeeds, even if it’s only telling half of an MCU-wrapping story that will conclude next year — and does so at a bladder-challenging running time exceeding two and a half hours (you’ll want to stay for the obligatory post-credits sequence).

It’s one of the great ironies of Infinity War that a movie jam-packed with good guys and gals finds its true focus in a supremely interesting baddie.
