Love seeing the rivalry renewed. Its been subdued and too respectful for years.

Never seen it this intense this early in the season, this is what this Yankee team needs.

Man I would’ve elbowed Kelly so bad there. Why do they go for the tackle every time.

It’s never, never ever pretty at Fenway unless you have Pettitte. That said, a 2-1 win is equal in value to a 10-6 win.

It’s just a hitter’s Park.

Our offense has been pretty solid last several games, even in the 1 run game last night we still had a healthy amount of hits. Just werent able to string together a rally.

Our pitching needs to get it together a bit. Our bullpen has been shaky so far, and our starters havent been able to get deep into games. Good win though, definitely needed that.

Starters haven’t been able to go deep into games?

Both Severino and Tanaka have gone into the 7th inning each and made it past the 6th twice.

Guys, this is 162 game season. Not that weak sauce 82 game season garbage in the NBA.

As the weather warms, the arms are stretched out properly, warm weather gives the ball more torque/spin, and the starters will pitch deeper into the season.

Fenway is a hitter’s Park. David Cone said it best, if you can walk out of Fenway giving up 4 runs that’s 2 runs everywhere else.

Stop it.

Just. Stop.

Enjoy the win. April is guys finding their groove then hitting their stride in May-June.

Tyler Austin has a lot of spunk. No matter what happens they need to keep him around.

Yes I know its a long season, ive been the one saying that seemingly non stop in this thread.

Im not saying they should pitch in the 7th or 8th inning, maybe I shouldve clarified that. But at the very least finish 6 innings. Starters by this time of year should be able to get into the 6th inning. Thats not asking for much. This is why Spring Training is used, to stretch their arms to at least 6 innings in the first month. But because starters arent finishing at least 6 innings, we are over relying on our bullpen a little too much early in the season.

We are top 10 in bullpen innings, and 6th worst in bullpen ERA. I do have faith in our bullpen and do believe they will turn it around, but again we are using them a little too much this early.

Yes Sevy and Tanaka have each pitched into the 6 inning or more 4 times. But the rest of the 3 starters have only done it once in 6 combined starts so far. Once in 8 starts if you want to include the last 2 outing from Sevy and Tanaka. Most of those starters are getting pulled because they are either nibbling, giving up too many walks which inflates their pitch counts, or getting pulled simply for having a poor outing.

After a month of spring training and now making their 3rd starts of the season, we need more length from these guys. 6 innings is beyond reasonable imo. Yankees starters last year were going 6-7 innings deep through their 2nd starts of the season, and thats when we started to string together some wins.

We can keep bullpen arms more fresh if they are only asked to get 9 outs.

I've always been a fan of Tyler Austin's game. He doesn't have the raw power or talent that his former roommate Aaron Judge has, he does have a lot of motivation, desire and won't let himself get pushed around by other teams.

Yankees had been missing a bit of an edge vs the red Sox. It's been too buddy buddy. Even before this game Gray and Beneteddy (however the hell you say his name) were joking around. I hated how all those years we were so buddy buddy with big papi and he would destroy us.

Yankees need Hicks back and to bring Torres up. The long ball is great and all - but we really need some more contact hitters in the lineup. This should be apparent to anyone watching with a set of eyes.

I kinda still wish David Cone was our Manager. Why did Boone have a stronger resume again?

Its impossible to have a logical debate w/ some of them.

Reub's argument that DeGrom is better than Sevy is because DeGrom last pitched in the World Series. Ok, by that logic Trevor Bauer is better than Noah since Bauer last pitched in a World Series.

And lotsix is just insane. Might be something wrong w/ that guy.

I honestly dont even care about the Mets since they are in a different league. Its crazy to me how they are still obsessed w/ the Yankees. We havent spoken a word about that team in our thread, and yet 70% of what they post is Yankee related.
