While Brian maybe didn't have bad intentions, this is just flat out disgusting. Ignorance cannot be an excuse, I hope the league and Thunder look into this.

What does 'look into it' even mean? Are we going to have them do a thorough investigation of his intent?
It's not that big of a deal, it's a very common phrase in the midwest. Tell him it's unacceptable, have him apologise for it, and move on
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

4th seed, like we all predicted.
No dramatic underachieving to see here folks. Walk away quietly.

1st round still is a toss up at best but the west is insane. I didn't think other teams would be this good 5 to 8

the team didn't overachieve or underachieve. it's right about where most projections had them. had dre been ok maybe they squeeze another few wins out. we looked like a 4-5 srs team with dre. we're a 1-2 srs team without him.
seeding's kind of a weird way of testing success or failure since only a game or two separates 3rd from 8th.

Seriously?? It's a well known saying and had absolutely zero racial connotations to it in the context used! C'mon! If you've ever met Brian you would know he meant nothing by it. He uses all sorts of stupid zingers during the broadcast. Do you think Michael Cage had a problem with it? I seriously doubt it.

I'm not from the Midwest and never thought anything racial about the phrase. Honestly Elmer Fudd is the guy I associate it with.

brian davis has said controversial things in the past. whether it was intentionally racist or not it's a stupid thing for a professional broadcaster to say on air. he should know better.

You cant say something like that. He should be fined and maybe even suspended. He should come out with an apology if he hasn't already.

Whos the worst? 2501 minutes. Just got himself in that range. There were other folks that were worse this year but they just didn't play enough minutes.
There is a lot of Melo hate. But, we got him for four reasons and none of them are because we needed him to Produce in the regular season. First, we got him to make the perceived big 3, second to get PG13 to re-commit to OKC next year, third in the playoffs, and finally to get Russ to sign his extension.
For all of the hate towards Melo I think he has been what we thought he would be. I might have thought that he would shoot for some better percentages but other than that he has been what we expected. He is part of the reason Russ resigned, no doubt about that. He could be a big reason why PG13 stays with the Thunder next year.
This dude in the playoffs will show as to why we got him. The playoffs will not be a big moment for him.
After this season has played out the only deal that could have been better is a deal to get Blake but, Detroit still had the better offer.
Melo can play against the Warriors and Rockets, Kanter can't. Melo will in us a couple of playoff games this year, He is ready for this moment.

Well the West was way more compressed this year than last year, when there were 5 teams with 50 wins or more.
This year, only the top two seeds had over 50 wins.
The difference in games between the #3 and #8 seed in 2017 was 14 games. This year, it's just 2 games.
So OKC could have been anywhere from #3 to #9 this year, with an extra win or loss here or there.

Apparently they issued a statement and I'm assuming apology incoming.

Small sample size but Ferguson is shooting 47.4 percent from three in the last 24 Thunder games

If those are the real intentions for acquiring Melo, the Vince Carter’s would have been a much cheaper alternative.

I don't understand how he can be rated his badly. He has the 5th best On/Off NetRtG on the team at +3.1 The offense is 5.7 points better with him on the floor than with him on the bench. I know he has been bad individually, but I still don't think that he was a -2 player offensively this season.

The on/off isn't a result of Melo being adequate. It is a result of Jerami Grant being so god awful that you'd have to be a completely incompetent coach in need of being fired to play him over Singler, Collison and Dakari.
