I believe you can....it just has to be AFTER the pick is drafted. That is unless you guys own someone else's 2019 1st (Cant trade your 2018 one because you owe us the 2019 one).
Its the Bucks. I do not remember the last time we owned someone elses pick.

They traded the Clippers pick for Trashquez.

You guys can absolutely have that #16 pick this year.

You guys have a bright future with a new coach and maybe picking up a quality C in FA.

I think your picks in the future will be in the mid to late 20s so I’d rather have the #16 this year because of that reason alone honestly.

So can we trade it? You can't trade consecutive first round picks but we don't know for sure that 2019 will be going to the Suns...

For 2019 it's protected 1-3 (Giannis injury) and 17-30 (playoffs) so we should keep it.
For 2020 it's only protected 1-7, so as long as Giannis is healthy we will probably hand it over then.

Cool outcome I guess, so long as we don't throw the pick in the trash again.

We can trade it. The Bucks would have to do the pick for the receiving team, but right when it is done we can trade it.

Drafting an NBA player with this pick is super important.

It seems like the Bucks fans AND the Suns fans are annoyed. I'm assuming a trade can be made to give the Suns the pick this year, correct?

Bookmark this thread guys. Let's see in three years what came of it. Did we do anything good with pick #17? Did we cough up the #5 overall pick in 2021? Who knows.

I'd have much preferred to send the pick to the Suns.

BTW--don't we now send next years 2nd to the Nets for Tyler Zeller since the Suns get our 2nd rounder this year?

Actually, and I don't think this is hyperbole at all. We need to turn this into an above average NBA player or we're screwed.
