It would be foolish but I would not put it past this guy's camp to do a Greg Monroe in just taking a QO and get the freedom to choose KP's team.

What hurt us was the timing of KP's injury. It was too late for the tank and we have zero chance in trading him at draft day to hedge the risks of hin leaving.

I am in the minority here but I would be willing to trade him for Doncic or Ayton straight up.

When KP is on our books with a max contract, the downside potential with him being injury prone will be great.

And look where Monroe is now. I wouldn't worry about KP making that mistake. Nothing is guaranteed in this league.

I've been saying it. If KP really wants out, that's his chance.

Threaten you gonna take QO and leave for nothing, so Knicks are forced to trade him while hes still gonna be RFA, so the team thats trades for him can max him out without him leaving. That way they gonna get more value, rather than waiting for him to take QO and then trading him while hes gonna be UFA after it..

KP doesn't want to go anywhere. Him and his people seem to like the high profile city life. If he acts up, send him and Janis to Utah or Sacramento.

I'm just wondering. not saying I would even consider this. But what do you think KP trade value around the league is?

yes. And also, being distant from the organization is nothing new from players who've went through these long rehabs.

Still don't believe any single player should dictate the future of an organization.

Yeah...Wtf Alan? Not getting enough clicks? Dude said he loves it here!! He's aware of the rebuild. He's focused on his knee and not giving the media any quotes.

I admit...it wasn't a ringing endorsement. He's just doing his thing. This is a business now. Much bigger for these younger kids than it ever was before. He's got an image and a brand to protect. I would love for him to say he'd retire a Knick...he was put in the trading block!!! He's not gonna forget that. Ever.

Trust the FO? Are we sure the Knicks' medical staff operated on his knee?

KP knows his place. Yes, looking at YOU, Lebron James.

Players play.

Don't get involved in signings, contracts, FA, GM and coaches.

I can't wait for Lebron to split, while Cavs are stuck with Tristan Thompson's contract. Dead weight that Lebron forced upon the Cavs to keep him, happy.

The sad part is regardless of what we build around KP, we have two teams in our division with much better young talent and future. Even if we make solid moves, we're 3rd best team in our division at best. That's what 30 win seasons and dumb signings like Noah and THJ do to a franchise. We'll be wasting KP's prime years competing with a stacked Philly and Boston team. If I were him, I would demand a trade.

"We have to ..." as in there is no choice, what can you do?

vs.

"We trust the front office to make the right decision."

Message received, KP. Message received.

I am starting to think KP is damaged goods. He's an all world talent. But his years as Melo's understudy may have taught him some bad leadership habits.

I also really am starting to believe his body is not built for a full season, superstar minutes.
Here's what I propose,

New York and Phoenix

We offer

KP
Hardaway 4 years left
Lee 3 years left

we get

B Knight 3 years
Dudly 2 years
Josh Jackson

We also receive the 2 Phoenix picks this year.
We now are on pace to have our money right in 3 years completely
and
Gives us 3 picks in this years draft
Plus a starting back court of Frank and Jackson.

What do you think?

I would offer kp for one of the top 3 picks in this draft.

Knight, Dudley, Jackson? TERRIBLE deal...and the Suns won't take Tim Hardaway Jr's garbage contract but they will take anyone delusional to think KP is damaged goods.

Just because you're the "leading scorer" does NOT entitle you...nor does it necessarily qualify you as the leader.

ANYONE...I mean, anyone STILL hung up about KP's injuries. Look at Joel Embiid.

The Sixers used to be as STOO-pid as the Knicks. Telling their players to bulk up, train harder, and go all out on minutes. Guess what? Not giving guys time to grow into their bodies with a limit on minutes backfired. Embiid lost TWO years. Simmons lost one.

KP needs to be nurtured. Big bodies don't last long in general. Ask Ralph Sampson.

Again....I love that KP is telling everyone, the players place is to play. Don't be thinking you can do other people's jobs w/o having them.

THAT's the BEST leader, knowing your role.

Exactly. Every player you ever hear talk about the rehab process of a long term injury talks about the isolation being one of the toughest parts of the process because they have to focus on the recovery and the rest of the team has to focus on taking care of the business of preparing and playing. It's a natural thing that happens all the time. Fretting over decisions occurring above his pay grade does absolutely nothing to help his knee heal. I would expect this sort of nonsense from Isola. Hahn should know better. There is nothing wrong with what KP said. I would much rather a guy who is mature and intelligent enough to know what his priorities should be than someone who pays pointless lip service because he's worried about media spin.
