So. Anyone else watching the Rockets? They're looking pretty bad against the Wolves. 1 point game halfway through the 4th.

Admittedly Harden started taking over as soon as I said that.

These are clearly two teams coached by guys who only know how to coach one side of the ball. I’m even more apopleptic than Webber about Towns being waved out of the paint time and time again with midgets on him. Wiggins is invisible on both ends. Chris Paul is as washed as he is dirty. Harden is indeed a machine but Draymond is a while lot to deal with (I want Dray on Harden and Keay saving his legs for offense.)

Wolves wasted their chance of making it a series, they are gonna get creamed game 2.

Are they somehow going to be even worse on offense next game?

No but Houston isn't gonna shoot 27% from 3 again.

Harden just shot near 60% and they won by 3. Minnesota should feel very good about their chances to shock the league.

This Houston team is a good team, but they are not as good as their record. They have a short bench and Paul brings almost nothing to the table playing next to Harden. Not a lot of basketball left for Gordon to have any impact either. Over 7 games of chasing our 9 or 10 deep rotation around they will be gassed and dead legged on jumpers and so sloppy on D it will be a layup drill.

That’s assuming they get to the conference finals. Probably OKC boots them before they get to us.

Warriors are just going to alternate Iggy, Dray and Klay on him. Might even throw KD for 1-2 possessions and see how he fares.

I wouldn't write them off yet. They were missing Mbah A Moute and Anderson, two of their core players. When healthy they go 10 deep and have one of the top 2 benches in the league.
I still think that the Rockets are built to beat the Warriors.
-Harden/Paul/Gordon is one of the best guard trios in the history of the game. Curry/Thompson are good, but it is really tough to go 2 vs 3.
-Mbah A Moute is a top defender. If he can slow down Durant the Warriors could be in trouble.
-There isn't really anyone for Green to guard.
-Their "backup" PG is by far the best backup PG in the history of the game. It's hard to see how our bench would beat theirs.

I don't see how the Warriors can win unless Curry is fully healthy.

Durant will eat Mbah a Moute for lunch....I mean its Kevin Durant we're talking about. Luc is a nice role player, but please people stop with the exaggeration of this dude stopping people.

On the other hand, is there an offense that's more inept than the T-Wolves? You just have guys like Wiggins, Butler, Teague, DRose and Jordan Crawford (?!) take turns iso-ing while KAT barely gets any touches.

Thibs is proving he's a better fit as an assistant than a head coach.

Houston will destroy the wolves in this series.
Tibs let Rose and Teague go iso every time its not even funny. How are they going to win games constantly? hoping someone gets hot?

So besides Harden taking two steps back to shoot 3s, he pushes off with his off arm (and so does CP3 these days), you have Capella coming up to set the screen but as he slips and dives to the basket, he's pushing the defender in the back so that he stumbles, letting Harden get past him, facing the big man who must either show, which results in an easy lob to Capella, or he stays back and Harden gets a layup.

Houston is not the only team doing it but they used to complain about the Warriors using illegal screens. When is it legal to use your arms to push a defender?

That's the equivalent of Delly vs Steph.

I think Houston is very vulnerable to the Wolves. If Wolves can put on game together Houston could be going to Mini 1-1...and feeling a crap load of pressure.

Houston has been a great regular season team....but looked like a pretty average playoff team getting bailed out by individual performance from Harden.

Houston looked ordinary, but the Wolves looked dysfunctional. Minnesota looked like a bunch of guys thrown together who didn't know what they were doing.
