I know the other day when he batted Conforto and Gonzo as pinch hitters against a lefty was a bit questionable, but it worked out so no one cared.

3rd and 2nd 2 out....nido up (noah on deck)

He pinch hits for nido with Jay Bruce....clearly the brewers were going to walk him. So they did. They Noah came up and got out.

I think you have two options there....if you are going to let noah stay in let nido hit because they probably pitch to him. If you are going to pinch hit for nido and they walk that pinch hitter you have to be comfortable pinch hitting for Noah.

Ron and Gary were both shocked he basically wasted bruce because they intentially walked him and let noah hit with bases loaded and he got out.

Noah was already at 90+ pitches too so he didn't have long in the game.

I think it was man on 2nd and two outs when Calloway PH Bruce for Nido, but I could be wrong. Anyhow, we still had Gonzo Cabrera and I think another lefty on the bench so it really wasn't a problem from what I could see.

that isn't correct

flores walked and rosario was hit by the pitch. Reyes grounded out but both runners advanced.

It wasn't just me...Gary and Ron were baffled and look...

can we flip a starter for Realmuto?

maybe get some prospects back

No way. Harvey will be a free agent after this season and is represented by Boras. Miami will want young players who are under control for a long time. Dominic Smith and maybe that young pitcher, Peterson. But we'd have to add more than that.

How about trading them Matz? He's still relatively young, appears to be healthy and is still cost controlled. Vargas would replace him.

Edit: That's probably why we should keep him.

Would be awesome if Miami would take Harvey. I can dream, can't I?

Ok, I stand corrected. I turned on the radio in the middle of the inning so I must've missed the guy on 3B. Still, we weren't hurt by it.

oh im not saying we were hurt by it and I'm not saying it like I would be getting on mickey even if we were hurt by it. But I also don't see a problem with recognizing a clear managing mistake especially from mickey to learn from it (since he new to it especially in the national league) so when we are in that situation again he handles it differently.

Yes, an awful loss. How the team bounces back from this tomorrow and the day after will define the rest of the season. A real confidence killer.

Seth Lugo for one hitter was not wise. He's a starter, not a specialist like Blevins. That's is on Mickey. I would have let DeGrom do one more and put Blevins for Bryce Harper.

But I still get nervous when Familia pitches with men on. He gets wild. Even if he is a 45+ save closer, that's not the composure a manager wants in tight games.

Sorry, DeGrom.
