Clippers assistant coach Mike Woodson will interview for Knicks head coaching job Wednesday in LA, per source. Woodson coached the Knicks from 2012-14. He also coached Atlanta Hawks.

At this point mf's just want to eat at steakhouses and travel and put it on the expense report so Dolan can approve it.

JVG is trying to get Mark Jackson the job so if he's staying clear and they are too at this point, it could be because Jackson is a serious finalist.

The Woodson thing is puzzling. A little concerning too.

Here's how it works. I work in professional sports, particularly in football. Everyone that has some sort of power will each get a chance to bring in a guy who they think will work. Mills will get his candidate. Perry will get his candidate. Then they'll bring in third-party candidates (Woodson, etc.). It is at that point where they will evaluate the potential coaches.

Do not read into everything that is being thrown out there. It's all part of the vetting process. I think a lot of the process is smoke and mirrors anyway. They'll tell media one thing and go the other way.

Bottomline: We do not control this search. They will do what they feel is right for the franchise and make sure everyone is on the same page. The place I work had a front office and a coach on different wavelengths. The result was the worst few seasons in history. Give it time and let it play out.

I brought up the argument that older coaches are more win now. However Nate McMillan has something to say about that.

It depends on the veteran coach. Like I would expect JVG and Jackson to look to go to more established teams. JVG to the Grizzlies makes all the sense to me.

I think Blatt would be open to the idea joining a rebuilding team. I mean that was what the OG plan was in Cleveland until Lebron came back to town. I'm more worried with his ability to connect to the players in the NBA. Something that Stack definitely won't have issues with.

Everyone is all up in arms about Blatt, but let's be real. The dude had an 83-40 record with the Cavs and was 30-11 when he was fired. He's literally the most successful (.732) coach to ever be fired during a season. In addition, if you look at when he was hired, it was about a month before James decided to come back to Cleveland. That team was trash (outside of Kyrie) with a 33-49 record and he was hired for development purposes.

His firing had much more to do with James not liking him than with him not getting along with players. Then he went through the James media machine that just killed him after the firing.

I'm not saying he's the right hire, but I'm also not saying he's the worst coach out there.

Casual fans would scream out Mark Jackson. New Yorkers all about about the BS. We fell for it with Phil. Big name means he will bring big things. We found out the hard way it dont work like that.

We are rebuilding! Hire a coach that is willing to rebuild. End of story.

A lot of these guys on sports radio, tv, and even the people that call on make us here at Real gm look superior to them. People talk cht about knicks fans but us here on Realgm is the real deal.

Someone tell Delvec to meet up with Mills and Perry again and tell them no real Knicks fan wants Mark Jackson.

Van Gundy is out, huh?

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/23204362/new-york-knicks-not-currently-interest-hiring-jeff-van-gundy?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

The New York Knicks have not shown any interest at this point in Jeff Van Gundy as a candidate for their head-coaching position, league sources told ESPN.

I love how they could barely defend their position on Jackson.
He um... uh helped developed Steph and Klay. Yea except the team got better is practically every way under Kerr.
He is um close to the front office... So is Jim Dolan, I guess he should be coach too.

stack is a great option...young, defensive minded...paid his due. Would signal they plan on developing there young pieces and stack would be able to build with a young team.

Would be very excited for stack.
