Did anyone else here see Avengers: Infinity War yet?

I'm pretty conflicted on it.

Question for the board:

Now that Bill Cosby is a convicted felon for multiple for sexual assault...

can (and should) TV stations continue running reruns of the Cosby Show in faith?

Bounce TV has already pulled episodes. I have to imagine Amazon will be doing the same shortly.

Can we as an audience make that distinction between the show and the man?
Should TV stations be lining the man's pockets knowing what he's convicted of?
Is this situation comparable to other actors who've been charged, accused, convicted of similar behavior?

I'm guessing there wouldn't be a lot of people who want to watch it anymore. I can live without the Cosby show easily. Now Fat Albert.......

You're probably right -- on a large scale.

But I still watch reruns of The Cosby Show and A Different World on Amazon when I'm making dinner/doing chores.

It's comfort food, hailing back to my childhood. And I also want to support the other actors involved and like to help out with the royalties they receive.

But, even I am conflicted at this point.

I forgot about a Different World. Well let's face it. Coz isn't going to live that much longer probably and even though his family has been privileged they have to live with this tarnished legacy that was no fault of their own.

Unrelated topic -- I do think college kids should ultimately get compensated for the use of their likeness, jersey sales and a small portion of TV rights during their college years.

Set aside in a trust to be retrieved at age 25 or 3 years after graduation. Whichever comes first.

This way, they are still compensated for their efforts and financial contribution to the schools. But it comes so much later that it likely doesn't influence when/where they play.

I think the episodes will be pulled for PR reasons, obviously. However, I'd still sit down with my kids and watch the Cosby Show, Different World, etc. I don't think that represents an approval of his actions on my part.

Also, let's be honest with each other, I'd wager a significant percentage (I'm talking an overwhelming majority) of "Hollywood" people engage in things we'd find unsavory to the point where we wouldn't want to watch their movies, enjoy their music, etc. Only difference is we don't know about it/them (yet). So I don't think people should pretend like that industry is somehow more 'clean' now that Cosby has been outed/convicted.

I'm not railing against people who'd rail against the guy either. I totally understand. I, for one, simply can't listen to R Kelly anymore for similar reasons. IOW, I totally get it.

Related side question. Are people boycotting/removing all the stuff Weinstein had his hands in? I don't know the answer so I'm genuinely asking.

It's tricky for sure but for me there's a difference between the behind the scenes people and having to actually watch the creep on the screen. Not that I support Weinstein or want to send him any money but i guess i can be more in denial if i don't have to see him.

There are a bunch of creeps out there but criminal assault, cosby, r kelly, weinstein, is certainly different than just being a douchebag.

Yeah. People have definitely refused to work with him and his company has completely fallen apart.

But the films he's produced haven't been removed as publically and consistently as some others.

Add Charlie Sheen to that list. From domestic abuse, assault, rampant drug use and not telling partners he's HIV positive...

That dude is a monstrous piece of garbage that got a pass for waaaay too long.

Yeah. I can deal with dbags, as evidenced by my participation in HS ... ohhh, #shotsfired. Seriously though, violence against women/children ... it's not really forgivable for me. That said, I don't know why I can still watch the show and have it not bother me to see the guy. Maybe I see it as me watching the character not the guy. I don't know.

LaVar has clashed with every one of his sons’ coaches, from high school to UCLA and Luke Walton on the Los Angeles Lakers, and the BC Vytautas staff knew what they were getting into. They got what they needed out of the Ball family — increased exposure, enough money to pay the rest of their players and LiAngelo, who was a productive role player before his ankle injury derailed his season.

“The third month was kind of sad,” Urbonas told USA Today. “I don’t know if you saw, but during the games that we broadcasted on Facebook, you could tell that there wasn’t many people in the stands. Also, the Facebook numbers decreased a lot. Comparing to the first games where we had more than 100,000 people watching, and then in the end, it was like 5 or 6,000 people. It was a picture of the overall attention in Lithuania.

We got bored, people got bored. Mostly because we saw that LaMelo can’t perform at the pro level yet, and most of the people were irritated with the LaVar and Coach Seskus stuff that hurt the team. Also, some of the players had a bad approach to LaMelo and LiAngelo, so these inside conflicts were damaging to the overall image in Lithuania.”

I can objectively seperate the two. There are still life lessons to be taken from the Cosby show.

This. I'd venture to guess he's got something coming out soon ... which I won't be buying, since I've been kinda 'off' the Kanye thing since his second album. #AttentionWhore

Whenever I see him speaking, I unplug the tv.

I'm sorry. But I can't imagine this helps his record sales at all next month. (Especially in the age of illegal downloads.)

His PR team has to be in crisis mode leading up to this album release.
