NYDN: Fiz sees Lance Thomas as his Draymond Green (WTF)

Fizdale even compared Thomas to All-Star Draymond Green.

"He's a Swiss Army knife-type of player that can guard multiple positions and you can run offense through him," the coach said on WFAN. "I think he can push the ball off the break a lot like Draymond Green plays. Obviously the thing I'm going to demand from Lance is to play defense like Draymond. And be a guy that's pushing to be a First Team All-Defender."

Um.... WHAT?! Lance is NOTHING like Draymond. He doesn't rebound like Draymond, he doesn't have a good pickup dribble like Draymond, he's not intimidating on defense like Draymond, he's not a great passer like Draymond. HE'S NOTHING LIKE DRAYMOND! :banghead:

I expect him to tell the truth. Thomas has been in the league for 8 years now, and he's never had the skill set that Draymond possesses.

Breaking news...a newly hired coach talking up his players in hopes they improve. What's he supposed to say, that everyone on the roster is garbage except for KP?

the truth is that he's a bum :lol:

a lot of coaches gas up their players. it really doesn't mean much.

Alot of us had the exact sentiments posted in the Knicks offseason thread. It was quite a hoot!

My theory is that Fizz probably just talked to the remaining coaching staff or whoever resource people in the org and asked them to describe to him each Knicks players in a nutshell and zipped off to the interview.

I think he's planning to move Lance to the 4 while Porzingis recovers next season, probably even start him. That means Beas Da God is not resigning.

Lance , burke, mudiay and o'quin showed up at the press conference and talk to fiz honestly i have no problem what fiz his saying about lance the truth of the matter the knicks aren't going to good next year and kp isn't going to play next year . Its basically a rebuilding year and probably hype lance trade value if he does well next year.

In that case we have to draft a proper 4. I cannot bear the thought of having to sit through another season with LT starting. Even a second round prospect would be better.
