I think Fiz will be good. He's a motivator who demands strong effort. That alone would be ok. Now we have to see if the defensive sets and offense he brings is good, but indications point to that being fine. I think the quote reveals that Fiz will exaggerate on the side of "motivational quotes" , at least to the press, so everyone has to be prepared for the grains of salt with things he says.

KP is a center on defense. He is an elite rim protector already with 7'3 height and 7'6 wing span. I don't care how weak (or soft) he is. His ability to defend inside is key to a great defense. He isn't good at chasing perimeter players and it also reduceschance to protect the rim.

Even Gobert seemed too slow against Rockets. A guy like KOQ can play to bring some toughness like David West and Zaza for some minutes but he can't be full time center for us.

So we need a guy like Draymond on defense. Closest guy on our roster is Lance Thomas. He can switch and he cand defend one on one well. He can make some 3ts to open up some space.

Until we trade or draft a better one Lance is our Draymond Green.

Lance doesn't have the grit and the intimidation factor that Green has. Teams don't want to play G.S because of that alone. Green makes it easier for the rest of his team-mates because he plays the bully role on offense and defense. Thomas is too nice to play that role. I do think everyone laughing at the comparison, pretty much equates to what you just said.
Its ok though, big talk like that happens from time to time and the guy may not have yet realized how vicious the NY media can be on a later time when he is not meeting expectations. He will learn and adapt soon enough.
