Should Boston keep or trade Gordon Hayward?
Looking at how well BOS did without Hayward in the regular season and now with him or Kyrie in the playoffs, it's gotten me to thinking, should BOS trade Hayward for a more glaring need? Maybe they break him up into more depth? Or a swap for a similar talent at a different position and maybe small parts added along?
P.S., I know this is a sentimental decision, due to Steven's relationship with Hayward.
BOS fans, thoughts?

Well gosh I think keeping the top 30 player whose a perfect fit for the system would be just swell.

Re: Should Boston keep or trade Gordon Hayward?
There are so many reasons not to do this:
1. Boston needs stars, not depth. Breaking up a dollar into a couple quarters is a setback, not progress.
2. The optics are terrible. Shouldn’t require more explanation.
3. There’s at least a small sample size worth of data that this team is really good with Kyrie and Gordon. Why bail on the chance to see that play out?

This board has an unofficial PR guy for answering these questions from non-Celtics fans.
His name is Truth18 and he'll be with you shortly.

Unless you are trading for a 6'11" Gordon Hayward, you keep the 6'8" model.
Thanks Brad for answering my ad,
"Boston Celtics Barbershop, cutters wanted."
But after KP, your C play? You broke my heart Fredo.

Can we stop with these stupid threads? It’s getting old.

Keep. An All-Star level player who is versatile, plays solid defense, can score on all levels even without being ball dominant and is a great playmaker? That's exactly what this team needs to get to the next level.
The only concern is whether he will be back to the player he was before the injury. And right now everything that we're hearing points in that direction.

Ugh
Would be free agency suicide to trade Hayward. No major FAs would ever sign with us again.

Trade Hayward
Sure players like Davis, Giannis and other stars will consider us as a destination, they will love to feel that they are tradeable.
And Stevens will enjoy it even more seeing how celtics trade his guy.

That's an unfortunate choice of words...
You can't be seriously thinking trade at this stage. Let's see how we do next year first. We're going to be the deepest team in the league at the wing position by far. Super versatile wings. Scary. It's going to be interesting to see Gordon and Jayson playing together. Will this make Horford a center permanently? Will Tatum start as a PF? Will he come off the bench intermittently? Who knows. Let's get through this magical run first.

Re: Should Boston keep or trade Gordon Hayward?
Obviously you keep him. What could you even get in a trade?
What message does it send to players when you’re signed one year, injured, and then shipped out? Who would ever sign a long term deal here again?
Even if we pretend that other stuff isn’t a factor, why wouldn’t we want a legit scorer and overall All Star level player at a wing position?

Besides it being a useless basketball move, no free agent would ever sign here again.
